In the perfect world, that would be true. We don't know if his numbers from last year are the comings of a trend, or just a one year faze. I don't know if he was hurt, but if he was, wouldn't the Marlins DL him?

Well, a change of scenery could help. But I've seen more good things from Lowell than his disastrous 2005, but regardless of how well he plays this year, the Green Monster will help him.

Oh yeah, I forgot to thank One Red Seat for that chart, I fished it up in a post he made awhile ago.

Or something like that. I think the full time playing will agree with him. He's a solid guy, hard worker, professional hitter, and he has some pop in his bat.

what makes you say hes a proffesional hitter?

give him 1/2 a season in the show before you blow your money

portland or pawtucket aint boston

ask phil lancelotti or the 1st basemen who hit 30hrs in pawtucket for us last year

Who are you talking about? Youkilis? He's about as professional a hitter as they come. He is the exact opposite of a hacker, someone who puts as much thought and patience into hitting as possible.

Yes, Crespo, Lopez plays short.

Do you guys think Mohr could be Trot's platoon partner?

I think that's the only appropriate job for him at this point. He hit .170 against righties, and .270 against lefties. He's not a centerfielder by trade, so playing him every day makes no sense (especially given the fact that he sucks against righties, and righties are the vast majority of MLB pitchers).

I was looking foward to seeing Marte as a 25th man (and potentially in the outfield), but with the bench absolutely loaded right now Marte would probably have to be traded to start the season in the majors.

Anything doing with Griffey in Cincinnati?? there was some miniscule talk but then nothing more was said. dont know if its something worth looking into or not, but they claim to be in need if starting pitching, something this team has a surplus of. The team just being put under new ownership might be to the advantage in getting a trade done, or it could go the exact oppoiste.

A source told the Boston Herald that Guillermo Mota did not fail his physical this week and the Guardians discovered nothing in their examination of his right shoulder that the Red Sox had not already told them and that the Red Sox themselves did not already know.

Still, there's been nothing out there to suggest that it wasn't the Guardians' concerns about Mota's health that caused them to sour on the proposed six-player trade with Boston. Like the Akron Beacon Journal, the Herald believes the talks are on life support right now. Jan. 27 - 4:32 am

in the end, it looks like the Guardians just didn't want to trade crisp
