The only idea I can think of would be to track down some addresses, find 'em, and kick their asses Jay and Silent Bob style. We could also find a way to dig into their life savings. That may even make it profitable.

In that case I say we ban Youk of the Nation. :D

I feel very betrayed right now. We didn't do anything wrong, we offered exactly what we shouldv'e to a slap hitter with a terrible arm. Idk what happened, but somewhere mid-negotiations, Johnny (or John as Geroge might want it) lost his feelings towards Boston over 2 f***ing million per year. He won a World Series with us, he beat the Yanks in the ALCS, he wrote a f***ing book about it, and he's willing to cash it in for 2 mil a year.

Well if it were any other team I wouldn't be as mad, but that just adds to my fire. I dont understand how money can change someone. You already make millions, you already have your house on MTV f***in Cribs, you dont need any more money, it's a simple question of where do you want to go. Well, it's another Pedro story, the question is when will he finally wear down, Pedro's arm, John's body. I'll be happy with Reed/Crisp.

AT least 20 bucks will be spent on the mammoth haircut he's goin to get.

If anyone wants to feel any better Andrew Jones becomes a free agent next year. That is the guy the Yanks should have went after instead but I'm happy they took Damon from us for that kind of money. 13 mil a yr for him is too much. that money can be better spent.

f*** that sellout piece of s***. I know baseball is a business and all that but what he did is inexcusable. He sacrificed a hell of a legacy in Boston for an extra 2 mil a year. f***ing *******.

The thing that amazes me the most is that people are SURPRISED by this.

Johnny Damon hired SCOTT BORAS as his agent. Scott Boras' clients almost always go where the money stack is biggest.

Johnny's been saying he was pissed at the Red Sox and willing to talk to the Yankees for months.

You knew the Red Sox would set a hard limit on their spending for Damon, and you knew the Yankees set no such limits. If the Yankees want someone who's primary concern is money, they get him. Plain and simple.

It sucks to lose the best leadoff hitter in the game, and it is a double hit that he's going to the Yankees, but the Red Sox organization since the new ownership took over has had 2 famous policies: 1) They don't talk about extensions until contracts expire, and 2) They don't overspend on players for the sake of overspending and they DON'T make reactionary signings.

There have been 2 exceptions: Matt Clement seems to have been reactionary after the Sox lost out on Pavano, and they overspent on Edgar Renteria.

Damon to the Yankees sucks, but it's not the end of the world by any means. The Red Sox now have $10 million freed up to try to fill some other holes (including centerfield)

yes they do, when the 2005 season had started the Sox had extended Wakefield's contract.

Gordon Edes has reported they will soon give Francona an extension---Ortiz will also soon be granted his 2nd extension given by Boston in the last year or so.

So how do you feel about this. Are you gonna bring yourself to like the hated Johnny Damon? Will he be respectable one he cuts his hair? (He'll never be respectable in my book) What about for the rest of the yankee fans? Is this bad or good?

Once I grew to like Wade Boggs and Rogers Clemens I really dont care where they came from previously. If he proforms up to his talent I'll be the first to buy his jersey. I'd be a hypocrite if I said I'd never like him etc etc.

What's the deal with Jeremy Reed? Is he a future stud or what? I understand he's only been in the league for one year, is this someone you can trust to play CF in Boston?

As for Damon, I say good riddance, he should fit in nicely in NY with his cocky, arrogant attitude and IQ equivalent to his number 18, and I believe that's even generous, the man is an absolute idiot in every sense of the word!

His numbers have been consistently good for the 4 years he was with the Sox but you can be guaranteed that he's on the decline now and the Yankee Stadium CF is going to exploit that tremendously when people are tagging from first base on him. Lol.

Johhny Damon can kiss my ass for all i care, Damon is a great leadoff hitter, I am very mad right now, this really tops off a fairly horrible offseason. I blame both Damon and Luchino. First off Damon... How could he just betray RSN and join the team he hated for the last 4 seasons, it doesnt make sense to me, If Larry didnt run Theo out of the GM postion we would still have Damon today, I belive i heard something where Johhny said he did not like what was going on with the front office. Theo had a good working relationship with Scott Boras as well, Theo Would have gotten a deal done

Shame on you Johnny for joining the enemy

The 2006 Red Sox are going to be shaky team, as it stands no everyday SS or CF two of the most important postions on the field I am worried about this team and where it is going, Plus Trading away Hanely we have no future SS either unless Pedrioa converts back to ss

MLB4U.com and Hardballdollars.com both have Andruw signed through the end of the 2007 season. The Braves are trying to save some coin, but I think they'll be expecting a king's ransom in prospects and young, cheap talent to acquire him for his last contract year.

wow sounds like he's been taking lessons from the Derek Jeter school of interviewing.

"We're going to be tough to beat... Our policy with the Yankees is to go out there and win... Our job is to try to win another American League East title and hopefully we can go back to the World Series and bring another championship..." -- 12.20.05, Johnny Damon

The Red Sox offered arbitration, and that gets them compensated for losing him. If Damon accepted arbitration, he'd essentially be signed with the team. And easy stepping there...I have no problem banning another Yankee fan. The board's been swarming with new ones, and if you feel like saying something that starts some s***, you might want to consider jumping out a window instead.

BUT, if you'll be productive (see: He Hate Me, 26-6, AlexanderTheGreat, others), then welcome to the site.

quiz: what carpet bagging mother f***er, who is just greedy and egotistical as all the other players said this:?

"There's no way I can go play for the Yankees, but I know they're going to come after me hard. It's definitely not the most important thing to go out there for the top dollar, which the Yankees are going to offer me. It's not what I need."

That was before he was "insulted" by the sox's offer though, and before he "lost faith" in the red sox front office. I'm sure when he said that he expected the sox's offer to be at least close to top dollar, not 12 million less...

I'm sure the Theo thing also had a lot to do with it. Front office not loyal to Theo (architect of championship and a superior farm system), so why should Johnny be loyal ot them?
