Don't know if this has been posted yet but i heard on weei that a unamed team member is upset because a lot of red sox players are getting booed but schilling is not.
Posted
he should be booed.

Yea after this much time...injury or not...he isn't producing when it counts the most. It just doesn't seem to be coming around and I'm nervous as hell with him making the last start of the year. If the Sox can sneak into the playoffs....I'm not sure who the starting three would be at this moment.

my picks so far

1. Wakefield, no one can say otherwise he is the Ace of the staff

2. Wells

3. tossup between Clement and Schilling

if Bronson does another good qaulity start, i'll be even more confused how the rotation will be

His strikeouts counts have been getting back up to his 2004 type numbers, its just (1) his command is sketchy, on the road its been good, at fenway its been bad--(2) we couldve been talking about a win if he had not been brought in at the 7th inning already at the 100 pitch count and facing batters who have had great success in the past against him

why werent Delcarmen and Dinardo used who are really good strikeout pitchers??

I have to agree with that and if we could get out of that inning....I would immediatly go to Papelbon and Timlin again even though they pitched earlier....I have heard some things about keeping those guys fresh.....WHAT THE HELL IS THAT.....there aren't enough games to worry about being fresh. Francona can be questioned on how he coached this game.

yeah and if he hadnt started the seventh it might have helped..but it might have also helped if during those other six innings. he hadnt let up 10 hits and five runs, too.

If defense of francona I think by fresh the implication is to be ready for the yankee series. But whatever the logic he uses it is illogical to me.

Yeah, booing him will make him pitch better. Great idea. I'm going to start booing you guys if you continue to make stupid posts. I'm sure you'll post better because of it.

BOO.

entering the top of the 7th inning, it wasnt tied at that time. Thru the first 6 innings he gave up 7 hits, 4 Runs. The 7th against batters who have had succes against him, 3 consecutive hits which lead to the tying run. Its funny how you guys are acting like every start of his has been a bomb, how about against the d-rays going 7 innings giving up 2 runs or 5 hits. or against the yankees, 8 strong innings giviving up 2 runs on 5 hits. Ever think the rainout got him out of his funk a little for the game the next night after? pitchers are weird like that

I hope to God he pitches well sunday..but more than anything I just wish he would shut the f*** up about everything, whether some one said this, who is staying at his f***ing house, his God, his this, his that, this chairty, that charity, his wife..SHUT THE f*** UP--Just pitch.

I have no interest in his views... most of which I disagree with, but who cares, he';s pitcher for Christ sake, not a statesmen..I can tell you where he should put that bloody sock.

you're not a true fan if you are now talking like a yankee fan about him--the fact that he pitched on injured ankle while it was bleeding to lead the Sox to their first world series win since the early 1900s made him one of the most loved sports icons in new england, yeah but you are now telling him where to put the "bloody sock", yeah thats classy

Their his views, you don't have to listen.

I personally like that about him, how he is willing to let his opinions be heard.

Wow man, lay off him. People are entitled to their opinions, he can think what he want. Just because he doesnt wanna hear Schilling blab and s*** doesnt mean hes not a true fan. Wow dude you need to calm down.

Not to be taken to offense, but you should give Schill credit for what he did last year, and have the decency to not boo him yet.

Posted
Riverside, I wouldnt be talking about true fans. Afterall, you are the one that makes EVERY SINGLE Yankee game thread. If you were a true Sox fan youd make that one. You seem like a pretty big hypocrite to me.

LOL, him of ALL people? jesus christ, he should just plain shut up, stop worrying asbout who's getting boo'd and try to drive in some friggin runs. If it was like a respectable player maybe I'd let it slide but definately not Millar.
Posted
WEEI is reporting that there is speculation Kevin Millar might have been the unaminous Red sox player talking that smack about Schilling

LOL...LOL...LOL, of course it was Millar. Who else?

Posted
Well Millar has a big motive. He stuck up for bellhorn and rent when they were getting booed and he himself has been booed. I heard on espn he told the globe he was not the player who went.
Posted
Regardless, Millar should sit against Wright. The big question now is, does Tito have Schilling on a short leash if he gives up a couple of runs early?
Posted

since Millar played yesterday, I can only see that Olerud would then get the start today. he does have the better batting stats against Wright also.

just in case, they should have a guy like DiNardo on standby. But still he had his best start this season against NY, a start like that could come this afternoon as well

Posted
Don't worry about it -- Joe Torre is giving you the game. If Schilling can't come up the winning pitcher against Wright, you have more things to worry about than today's game.
