    Without ORTIZ I'm convinced we would be in second or third place. He is the MVP of the team. Timlin is the best bullpen guy. That's it.

    Actually if you read Reversing the Curse they don't like the way Manny deals with "people of influence" etc. which is why they pushed so much for A-Rod because he can deal with people very well like that. I really think they're not fans of Manny. Whatever the contract is, Manny is one of the great hitters of our generation and letting him go would just be dumb. Nobody would ever pitch to Ortiz again.

    He's all right as a manager. The team itself is incredibly talented hence the reason for the World Series win. But he's being an exceptionally bad manager as of late.

    Terry is an awful manager. He uses guys at the wrong time. Starting pitching, though, is obviously not his fault.
