yea all i have heard on nesn pre-game report, matt clement is in good health, was released by the hospital, and be on the charter back to boston with the team--very good news to hear, i expect for him to maybe miss up to 3 starts possibly

They DLed Kapler when he came back and I don't think he's able to come back until July 30th. So, they'll have to fill in with Hyzdu/Stern/Millar until Kapler comes back

I have to agree here. Hyzdu to me seems like the classic 4-A player. He kicked the crap out of AAA last year but hasn't been able to succeed at the major league level.

 

We just have to deal with him until Gabe's ready, which should be Saturday.

Something interesting Gordon Edes during the pre-game noted Theo is interested in Aubrey Huff, a player who surely would help the sox out with batting. but two questions (1) tampa bay really trade him off in their own division? (2) with gabe kapler coming back anyway, would huff agree really to be a backup player whenver trot does come back which is not anytime soon?

I don't think Tampa Bay is really worried about winning the division in the next couple of years. If Trot comes back, the man is HURTING.

Born and raised in New England, I grew up, got smart and moved to Hawaii. Unfortunately, Hawaii seriously sucks when it comes to even college sports. Anyhow, man, you better hope George Steinbrenner doesn't decide to buy NESN. Now, to me, that would be awesome! Yankee games televised in Massachusettes, oh man. Well anyway we all know that'll never happen, but a Yanks fan can only hope lol!

first of all dude I was talking about Clement beacuse someone in this thread had asked me what was Matt's conditon, and I was happy to update them--also this is coming from the guy who probably thinks YES is a much better network than NESN. Dude at least during NESN game broadcasts, Don and Remy dont make it all about the Red Sox while doing the play by play, they will sound excited by opposing players defensive skills and homeruns. Ive seen a game on YES before, man they are snobbish as they come, it was a Devil Rays game, and a D-Ray had hit a line to shot to left field. Whatever announcer it was kept saying "Foul, foul, foul, foul, and well that is a two run shot putting the D-Rays ahead the Yankees" now that is called garbage

Yankees dude, you must have been on crack when you saw a NESN broadcast that you thought was garbage. Not only is NESN a wonderful and fair network, Remy and Don are very insightful and offer their thoughts on players' actions etc. I always end up learning something from them. I don't particularly like YES, in fact I think it is very biased and bland at times, but I would never call it trash because many people enjoy it. Don't come on here and try to tell us that everything Red Sox related isn't worth crap when you know full well that 95% of will disagree.

First off, I think it's the general feeling that Trot will be out a considerable amount of time.

 

Second, I love Huff's offense (who doesn't), but do we really want another poor defender in the outfield? We already have Manny and on occasion Millar.

 

Third, if I have Huff on my team, I find him ABs. He can fill in at third in a pinch, first base, and the outfield. Find the man ABs. Also, would you start Kevin Millar over Aubrey Huff? NO FREAKING WAY!!!

 

The man's a monster with the bat. If the Sox were to acquire him they could move forward with the Millar to the Twins/Mets/Astros stuff we've been hearing for the past month.

plus NESN games is fun to watch because of Don and Remy's frindship they have, so quirky and stupid at times it gets me to laugh even during the close games Sox have had. like Remy talking about this toothache he had when Sox and D-Rays were tied at 1, haha I hope he stays here for a long time

Jery brings I think an unique perspective in that he was born in bred in New England, played aroung the league, and played for the Sox. More importantly still keeps a sense of humor and a somewaht "humble" approach to his contributions.
