If Dustin Pedroia is ready next season, he should be the 2B. If he's not ready, then Bellhorn should stay for one more year. Personally, I think he'll be ready and Bellhorn will be shown the door.

no dump bellhorn, how is pedroia doing this year?

if pedroia is not ready maybe put youkilis or mueller at 2nd (probably mueller), and put the other person at 3rd...we must resign mueller

also what are your takes on Millar, should we resign him?

Pedroia's hitting .307/.384/.490; 23/19 BB/K; 12 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR in 192 AB's and that's not factoring in the 2-2 with a 2B and 2 BB's tonight, which raises all of those numbers. I would like to see him spend at least a month or two in Pawtucket. He seems to have proven that he can hit AA pitching and an advanced college prospect like himself can make the AAA transition, which would only help him for a potential jump for next season. He looks ready.

I'd also like to see Youkilis as the everyday 3B next season and Adam Dunn as the everyday 1B. The former is easy, but the latter will take some doing.

Yeah, I realize that he's a good player, but this bullsh-t of, "his walks make up for all of his strikeouts" is crap. His 'two-out no men on walks' certainly don't beat his 'bases loaded, two outs strikeouts'. I just think there has to be an alternative for 2nd base.

as if we really would've won if he had hit. Edgar would've followed up with a groundout into a double. and considering he had the only RBI tonight. compared to the rest of the team, he's doing great.

he isnt very good this year..so far...a couple of homers, a few walks, an unbelievable amount of strikeouts on pace to break his own dubious redsox record for a single season, more poeple left on base than I care to think about,

he isnt very in fact he sucks so far and DUMP HIS ASS ( and of course no post would be complete without a little reminder of how much I hate embree).

I think Bellhorn's been horrible this year, but Soxie has a point.

Renteria hit into 2 DPs yesterday, and Manny Ramirez is lost at the plate.

Bellhorn's taking too much blame here.

That being said, I'd love to see him replaced. Last year I believed he was productive enough despite his strikeouts, but this season he seems to hit less and strikeout more.

Bellhorn is gonna start breaking records!!! Most strikeouts in one year in red sox franchise!!! HAHAHAHA I WISH!!!! I hate him so much i wanna see him in pinstrips and embnree sucks too!!

Didn't Bellhorn already break the Red Sox single season record for strikeouts last year?

yes, he surpassed the mighty butch hobson, and should break his recod of ineptiude this year!!

I think he's on pace to break 300...4 the other night, 3 the other day and 3 last night.

at this clip I'm thinking he might just make it....

again I dont know why he bothers bring a bat...

he struck out once last night. and not at all on Monday night. I seriously wish people would just shut the hell up about Bellhorn. yes I realize I'm biased but I am so beyond sick of this. start talking about the fact that Manny is sucking at everything he's doing. or about the fact that Edgar cannot hit anything except ground into a double play ball 90% of the time. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather Mark strike out then ground into a double play.

I'm sick of it. he had the only RBI last night. people are so quick to jump all over him when right now this entire team is doing s***. the "worst" player had the only RBI? the other night he was the only one to reach BASE more than once? come on. get serious. there's plenty more else to focus on but we all know people will focus on Bellhorn 'cause he's an easy scapegoat and it's immature and ridiculous. sorry if that offends anyone, but I'm damn sick of it.

wow..

I am hearing strains of "stand by your man" while reading this..

very immpressive, nice loyality--the fact that you seem to have made a case for the strikeouts because they arent double plays, I think is the heart of why I pick on mark--

But because you're so adamant and so loyal, I'll refrain form insulting mark, for a game or so, completely ..Starting now

I have enough wrath for al to last a game or so anyway (well, forever)

Good luck, I hope he keeps up the good work--striking out instead of hitting into double plays..oops, I mean I won''t say anything negative....starting now...

'cause Todd Walker has an amazing average right now. but not. and he was my favorite when he was here, too.

sorry I'm just sick of all the insults. there's a hell of a lot MORE wrong with this team than Mark Bellhorn.

start talking about the fact that Manny is sucking at everything he's doing.

Comparing Mark Bellhorn to Manny Ramirez is comparing apples to oranges. We know eventually Manny is going to hit and hit well because he's proven that every year he does... Mark on the other hand well all he's proven is that he strikes out more than he hits and that's frustrating you're very loyal but take off the rose colored glasses and just look at the stats and watch him play sure he has his moments but all in all he's really not that good.

Nice way to put it!!! I think Bellhorn ant that great!! Hopefully manny starts hitting like he can!!!

I know he's not a DAMN STAR. trust me. but if you want a team full of super stars then you sound like a Yankee fan. he's a valuable team player and does what he can for the team. it's just amazing to me how quickly people forget all the good players have done and want them shipped out. it's a little ridiculous.

and I'm fully aware of what Manny can do. but he should start doing it. he gets paid a hell of a lot more than Mark and that's why I jump all over him for not producing, sorry.

he's doing fine for his career average. I don't get it. he's not a career .330 hitter. get over it. yet he did a lot of good last year and came through a lot. and people seem to overlook anything good he ever does.
Posted
What do you mean we forget about the good players he nnever was a good player never!!! He was a below average player last year with a little clutch!!! This year its even worse!!!
Posted
um ok. 'cause apparently you're forgetting the consecutive homeruns in the post season that helped us advance. oh and the doubles. and he batted a career high and led the league in walks and OBP. but hey. he did nothing good EVER, right?

Here's my problem with Bellhorn: Everyone else on the team has proven that when they are in slumps, they can get out. This isn't a slump for Bellhorn... he's going to play like this as long as he is in Boston. With the demand of the town of Boston, I don't see Bellhorn sticking around... we have too good of management (& money) to keep him around. Don't get me wrong, soxie, I can see why you are standing up for him... I'm one of the biggest Nomar fans you'll find and he takes tons of criticism. I realized that we were better off without Nomar and I think you should see the same with Bellhorn.
