Honestly I think this deal has NO merit. Floyd already played for the Sox, and he's always hurt.

 

Manny's Manny....he comes with positives and negatives (more positives than negatives) but I don't think this deal could EVER happen.

That has got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That deal has absolutely no merit and would give no benefit to either team involved (Sox have already had the misfortune of owning the rights to Cliff Floyd, the Mets don't need another monstrous contract...still paying Mo Vaughn $16M/year). The Mets couldn't take Manny's salary, if any trade with the mets were to happen it would probably be for Wright, Reyes, and Kazmir.

It was a pretty stupid idea proposed in mid July by a member here. So, no.

That is a horrible trade, though Floyd is 31 he has had some injury plagued seasons lately while Manny has played every game he has not being benched by the manager(Grady) or sick. Also even if Floyd was healthy Manny is by far a superior player all-around.
