  1. get it through your head kid, they aint going to trade for him........... Although, a package of Youkilis, Shoppach (no need for him with tek signed for 4 more years) and a minor league pitcher like papelbon or jon lester (whom the diamondbacks want very badly)
  2. Guys obviouslythat wholething about Randy willing to play for the sox was a lie. Unless........ it came from a private source of WEEIs
  3. ok, great series great year in general. Thsi is wat we should do: Keep Bellhorn, but on the bench. Then move Bill Mueller over to 2nd base ( he can handle it ). Now 3rd base is an option for the red sox. Either they go young, and put Youkilis there or go younger with Adrian Beltre and trade Youkilis for a young pitcher. Maybe packaged for a Zito, or hey, if Corey Koskie leaves Minny, package Youkilis and some prospects for Johan Santana. Then you can re-sign Cabrera to a two or three year deal, depending on how far Ramirez is away or how long Bill Mueller plans to continue to play ball. Keep Millar at 1st. Keep the outfield and DH the same, obviously. We don't need Beltran, he'll stay with Houston. Now with pitching: Re-sign Pedro, give him wat he wants, he still has a ton left in the tank. Try to re-sign Lowe, if you cant, go to Carl Pavano. If you get PAvano, put Bronson 4th in the rotation. Try to work out a deal for Zito/Santana/another young pitcher for Youkilis. Keep Wakefield in the rotation also. Now to the bullpen: Get a few set-up men, hope that SWilly will be healthy. Keep Timlin, Embree, Myers, Lescanik. Try for maybe Armando Benitez, he'd b good in front of Foulke. And then maybe try for Guillermo Mota, if he is availabe, i doubt it though. Dont know who u give up for him though.
  4. Definitely the Sox, they are built for the postseason
  5. I remember a few years back, everyone was raving about a 21 year old 3B from Pawtucket, WIlton Veras. He made a few stints for the BoSox, but sucked it up. I was just wondering if anyone knew where he was now?
  6. Time Out- Are you guys arguing that the other's starting pitching is better?
  7. If you had anyone worth looking at in your farm system, then you would have gottten RJ
  8. Well Zenny, he's a prospect so u hate the prospect of trading him, but there are just some moves u need to make. The trades today will greatly help us.
  9. ARE YOU HIGH?
  10. if they don't get Johnson, they need to get another Quality #3 Pitcher, and a bat. Carlos Delgado, Mike Sweeney, names such as that. Kris Benson, BARRY ZITO (QUITE POSSIBLE, I THINK ) Matt Clement should all be pitchers to consider, especially Zito, who probably will be traded this offseason
  11. never mind, on the page before my bad
  12. what did ur post say about mendoza and youk, i missed it
  13. No Todd Helton. No, no, no, no, no. His contract runs through 2011 at 16.6 million per season. Do you really want the SOx to pay that and Manny's 20 million, among others?
  14. I would love the SOx trading Nomar for RJ, as we will have perhaps the best 1-2-3 in the game, but we will be losing offense if we trade Nomar. Is there anyway we could then acquire a second baseman or shortstop to replace Nomar's bat. If we were talking about this in the offseason, I would Alfonso Soriano, but i think Texas will win the West, so they wouldn't part with Soriano. Is there anyone you guys could think of?
  15. the guy reporting it was "close in negotiations" and that " a deal was imminent"
  16. the guy said it was just reported at 8 so who knows alot of thinking will have to go forth in the decision making on the part of the DBacks
  17. I read a report saying Arizona would want TOP prospects for Johnson, meaning: Alvarez, Shoppach, AND Youk. Seems like a lot to give up.... Also he wants an extension (2 years after 2005) so he can try to win 300. Actually, there was some sort of trade rumor reported by some radio station in flagstaff that would have sent Lowe, Millar, Jon Lester, Brandon Moss and cash considerations. This was reported on NetSports. Here it is.TRADE RUMOR
  18. Crespo, to add to your remark about RJ waiving his no trade clause: I think if a deal was made by the Sox, Johnson would waive it. He has nothing left to prove, and he wants another championship. If he doesn't want to come, then the Red Sox will convince him to. The Sox convinced Schilling to come over. The Sox convinced A-Rod to want to come over. The Sox can convince Jonson to come over.
  19. Yeah, seriously, the D'Backs and the Yankees don't get along too well, remember that whole David Wells ordeal. Besides the Diamodbacks will probably request the whole Yankees farm system and Javier Vasquez for RJ. The Red Sox have a lot more to offer, and they get along with the Diamondbacks. Also, if RJ and Curt really are friends I'm sure the Big UNit would love to come to Boston as would Mrs. Unit, who is friends with Mrs. Curt. I don't that any of us Red Sox hans have anything to worry about, Johnson isn't going to the Yankees.
  20. wow, Theo's really desperate.
  21. where did u hear this? Who was it for anyway? Boy, am i lost.
  22. I do not know what you guys are talking about, the C's did great in this draft. Al Jefferson- Even though this guy played in high school, he averaged 43 points, 18 rebounds a game. That is phenonamal even for a high schooler. He can be a very special player in the NBA and was a steal with the fifteenth pick. Delonte West- This kid can flat out shoot. If he can develop point guard skills and become a true point guard, he can be an all-star.
  23. Jamie Moyer for cash and a prospect or the sox will take on a bad contract
