  1. If you seriously think Shoppach is ready for the big leagues, or if you even think we aren't going to resign Tek, you need to have your head examined..and why wouldnt we keep meintkevich at 1st? Your also forgetting Mueller isnt a second basement, and doesnt have the range required to be an effective everyday 2nd basemen. PLEASE TELL ME YOU WERE JOKING
  2. First off players dont dictate who manages, who gets traded, who gets aquired and who gets fired. Schilling has no control over Francona's job. Secondly, you guys are idiots. Why would Schilling demand a trade? He came from a team that had no history, no future to a team thats always in the hunt in a place he enjoys playing. Even if he wanted to be traded, and demanded to be traded, why would the Sox trade him? He wouldnt not preform because he wanted to be traded, and the Sox would never let him go in a trade the way he has been performing. It leaves too many holes in the team. You guys really need to think before you post. Theo, Luccino, and Henry run this team, NOT SCHILLING. Just because he has become a recongnizable face with this team doesnt mean he owns it. Lets get realistic here
  3. WHAT POWER? Its either a walk or a strikeout for the most part with Bellhorn. What does it matter if he reaches first on a walk? Chances are hes going to be stranded at first anyhow with the way this team is with runners on. He needs to help himself and hit doubles, tripples, and HR's. Walking just doesnt do it with this team, and batting him second is just plain stupid. He should be hitting closer to the bottom of the order, making his walks more valuable, as the top of the order will have a better chance of knocking his lazy ass in from first
  4. I know Texas doesn't have the pitching to survive late into the playoffs, but their offense is unbelievable. We has trouble with them in Texas earlier this season, and if we face them as a wild card team we would be playing them in Texas to start. I would feel more confident facing a team we have dominated this season (A's) to start off the playoffs. Let the team that will give us the most trouble out of the two face the yankees and hopefully do some damage to them, if not take them out.
  5. Great win tonight!!! Lets keep the ball rolling in the right direction. On another topic, right now Sox fans should be praying the Yankees win the next two from Oakland. An A's win right now doesn't help the Sox much, yes even when they play the yankees. The division is pretty much lost, so cross your fingers that the A's get whooped the next few games. We need to keep winning as the A's face relatively bad teams this month. A's Series over August NYY (3 games) MIN (4 games) DET (3 games) KC (3 games) BAL (7 games) TB (6 games) CHW (1 game)
  6. Bellhorn leads the team in strikeouts and he bats second. Anyone else see a problem with this?? Granted he gets 1 more at bat typically than the 6-9 hitters, but come on now. We need him on base. I for one feel he is an average fielding second basemen with a lower than average plate disipline. We will greatly benifit without him eating up our precious outs the next few weeks. I would like to see Pokey back too for his defensive presence, but not for his bat. Elsbueno- You keep jumping on Gutierrez, but you haven't really seen him play. He has spent a good deal of time in the majors and is adjusting offensively to the big leagues. Hes not bad in the field
  7. We are actually a game back in the wild card, not 1/2 a game back.
  8. Never right about anything or first to get the story? Who broke the story of a potential Schilling trade IN NOVEMBER (yes...gammons). Who broke the story of all the Arod trade talks? (again gammons) The list goes on and on. There isnt another baseball analysist out there who has half the credability that Gammons does. Hes been doing it for years, has the most connections to players, agents, and owners. If you want the most accurate information on what is actually going on in the league you would make it a point to read up on Gammons.
  9. The reason Daubach hasn't been called up since joining the PawSox this season is the same reason why his major league career is basically over...he doesn't produce in clutch situations EVER. Daubach gets hits with no one on, strikes out with runners in scoring position, and isn't really a benifit defensively. Some nights he has it, most nights he doesn't. I don't see Daubach coming up again this season unless this team falls way out of it and has a yard sale.
  10. Are you meaning to tell me there is actually someone out there who thinks this owership will try to deal Manny after the way hes been producing and opened up to the media and fans this season? You have to be making this s*** up. If someone told me a week ago that I would read this post I would have punched them in the face for lying to me. This is just retarded.
  11. I like our chances in this one. We almost let one slip by last night (thank God for the rain), but I doubt Schilling will let this streak end.
  12. Not so sure our bullpens problem has been walks. I think the bigger problem is giving up homers (especially grand slams and 3 run homers reciently)
  13. On Fire? I don't know about that. We won three in a row lets not get ahead of ourselves. We did beat the Yankees which was huge, but its pretty far fetched to say we are destroying everyone in sight when we have played .500 ball the past 3 months.
  14. The Sox NEED to ride this wave for all its worth. Taking a look at the schedule, looks like in the rest of July and August we have it fairly easy. Nows the time to make a run. In the rest of July and all of August we play: BAL (1 series) MIN (1 series) Tampa (2 series) Det (2 series) CHIW(2 series) Tor(2 series) We can do it
  15. Boston, literally 2 mins walking from Fenway
