  1. I’d trade Mayer. Arias is looking more and more like the real deal. What would Schmitt be worth from us? I’ll have to look deeper into his numbers.
  2. Durbin is a name I really haven’t heard yet. For what we gave up for him, and considering how he’s playing, I’d throw him in the have to be overwhelmed section…but that’s just me. I really like his game now that he’s got things right again. Rather see him at 2b though
  3. Maybe under a different name but it’s more just the back and forth like y’all had with the one poster you constantly called a clown…haha. It’s entertaining to me . I could read that banter for days.
  4. Haven’t heard that name in a while. Haha good times.
  5. Reminds me of the old Boston.com days with y’all😅
  6. No, I said stock up on starting pitching so we can trade for one
  7. Agree on all…but…the other bat was Alonso. We needed both bats. He got Suarez when they whiffed on that, which I liked a lot. And still do. We still need that other big bat like you said though if we’re going to be taken seriously.
  8. I told you I liked the starter for starter trade. He traded away healthy arms to rely on starters with injury histories. Sandoval, Oviedo, and relied on other hurt guys like Houck and Crawford. Dumb. That’s a stupid plan. Trade away young healthy arms and pay guys who have arm issues.
  9. A tad but I’m trying to make my main point. Which is he’s traded away a TON of depth that I certainly at the time, and now, disagree with. priester going down this year just proves how valuable depth is. I didn’t think they would all be all stars, just bodies that I believed we needed. Pitchers go down all the time. I’m not bashing everything he’s done, but pitching depth is important and if you trade it away get something equal back. Durbin, who they messed up, a replacement IF, and some kid from the Yankees drafted in 2018 isn’t exactly a great return for a couple MLB ready starters and Hamilton, in my very humble opinion.
  10. Did ALL the pitching depth go to those players? No…we gave the Brewers their starting rotation though… listen, the whole point is the fact that he traded away all of our good pitching depth that every team needs and mostly counted on a bunch of guys that have been injured for the last year or two.
  11. We could have used what we had. Admit it. He screwed up and left our pitching depth in worse shape. Most of The guys he was counting on had been hurt the last year or two. Houck Sandoval dumb signing) Crawford are all hurt again. I like Bennett, but Bennett/Perales was a parallel move as far as depth arms. I’ll admit I do like some of his pitching moves but once again it’s about timing and replacing what you had. His inexperience shows
  12. Boy wouldn’t all the depth arms we had that Breslow traded away come in handy this year?
  13. I had no issue with him at 3b. Frustrating for sure. He made some crazy good plays then kicked the pooch on some routine stuff. The whole situation was botched from the start and went south very quickly. could have even avoided. overall I don’t care that he’s gone and didn’t think he deserved that big deal anyway.
  14. Nobody wanted Breslow to give him his wishes, but just have enough respect to make him aware of what their plans were beforehand. He may have acted different if he wasn’t treated like he was. I’m NOT all on Devers side because of how he responded, as he should have taken the high road. I was ok with trading him, just not the way they went about it. It was kind of shady.
  15. Same here. He’s apathetic with players and doesn’t feel he owes them anything. He showed Devers no respect by stating that he wasn’t the one who gave him that deal so basically he doesn’t give a s*** what was promised or said to him. Cold. all he had to do was inform him of their plans beforehand. Just a little respect to the guy they just named the face of the franchise and gave 300m. Whether it was his deal or not. He’s a smug little twerp who I don’t trust at the wheel of this ship.
  16. Any suggestions? I’d love a big bat in the minors. We had Tibbs, who’s looking pretty good in LA.
  17. So, does anyone think that after a four game series with a beat up Yankees team, it has changed the view from sellers to buyers? I really don’t, but I’ll play along with the buyers view… if Breslow decides to be buyers because of this series he would have to acquire a legit bat and bullpen help. I would actually look for a second closer. Anything short of getting those two needed parts to be legit WS contenders,a we need to sell and look to the future…Like I believe we still should. be prepared to lose a LOT of good prospects for short term fixes. After all, it’s the trade deadline. Im just not sure we are legit contenders without those parts, so it’s one or the other. I don’t think with so many teams who are already better, are looking to improve further, and are willing to open the wallet and let go the players to do it, that we would stand a chance bidding against some of those teams. I don’t think our owner is willing to go that far. Will Crochet be the same when he returns? Will Tolle and Early be able to handle the workload? Bennett is on a strict innings and pitch count this year, so he won’t be on the roster, and Breslow traded away all our pitching depth…i love seeing them play with some passion, but still, I just don’t think this is the Sox year to go all in. Not yet anyway. I’m not convinced after one good series.
  18. They’ll have to win at a 590 % the rest of the way just to get to 500. They should have absorbed the injuries better if the team was constructed better. Pitching has been fine without GC, but the offense was too reliant on returning injured guys, replacement level players and young and unproven “kids” mostly. That’s a terrible game plan. he will have a very short leash at the deadline, but He may not survive the offseason.
  19. Dude can not admit he created a very unbalanced roster relying mostly on 1-2 year young men.
  20. Kid had to go outside the org. To get fixed because the 20somethings they have as coaches have a one size fits all approach…can we get some guys that have actual MLB experience to coach and have completed their 20,s?
  21. Can we trade Mayer at the deadline too? This kid has been a complete bust. Not much value but he’s friggin useless…
