Some fans need to realize that Crochet had lengthy injury stints in the past so this isn’t so new and to not expect him to be anything close to himself this year. If he makes it back. Same with Ranger. Dude starts 26ish games a year, but I think he’ll be back in a couple three weeks

You’re right Justin Verlander is definitely not human…I’m just saying that there are big obstacles in our way of getting to a ring this year. Way more teams in much better positions. I don’t want to overuse young guys when this team is NOT a real legit contender this year. We’d also be selling the future, which I believe is really good with the players we have almost ready for their turn in the show.

If Guerrero keeps up the good outings there will be a bunch of teams looking for 103 out of the pen…could even start a little second level bidding war

Bennett just got back from TJS just last year. No way they throw him 172ip. No way. He’s on a strict IP and it’s NOT 172. Tolle won’t even go that far. He’s had 120ip as his max career IP and he’s around 90 now. Figure 30-40 is more than last year is what the6 usually do. Tolle and Bennett will be gassed come mid September. i mean, they could push them a little but i doubt either will have much left come Oct.. Bello still blows this year and do you want to count on Sandoval after two years off? He’s an opener at this point. 4-5ip. THIS is why I bitch about not having enough pitching depth. You need starters 1-10 ready, not 1-7 or 8.Sandy would be starter 9 but he’s only an opener at this point.

Tolle and Bennett will hit innings limits. Tolle is a months worth of starts away before he exceeds last years IP, and Bennett is on a strictpitch count per game and innings limit this year after his return from TJS last year. when will Crochet, who’s had a long injury history be ready? Suarez is out for at least a couple more starts. He always misses 6-7 games a year. Early has a bad elbow, which isn’t good. were playing our IF with all AAAA type guys besides Durbin. Our best hitter is going away for 4 games and we don’t know who’s starting tomorrow night because our starting depth was all traded away. Roman Anthony hasn’t proved anything I MLb except he’s looking pretty soft along with Mayer. im just not as optimistic as some. We would have to give up a bunch of prospects to have a legit shot at the World Series.

I’m all about kicking in a few mil to make things happen. Maybe a better return, which is what this would be all about for us. also, Henry is only spending around 195-200m in real money this year and getting rid of their contracts will put the team under the AAV tax line they’re currently under, and where Henry would rather be to save a couple million.

Unproven kids (Anthony/Campbell) who he deemed the future. Haven’t proved one thing in MLB and were given 23.5 per between them, but not the young LH GG Ofer who has proven himself? Odd.

Just depends what’s coming back. what I don’t like is paying these kids before they prove anything in MLB. I would have paid Abreu instead of Anthony, who’s proved nothing in MLB and appears a little soft. the fact the Sox haven’t even made an offer to Abreu after GGs and the AS game makes me think they’re not going to ever.

If a team is right in it and offers a couple top prospects that are MLb ready at positions of need and maybe an AAAA guy to fill RF you have to think about it. some teams get right there and will pay. Maybe not likely, but you just need that one GM…

Ive said I like these players in Boston, but I’ve also said in many posts that I would have to be absolutely overwhelmed, which usually won’t happen, for those 3 to move.

I sent over the 10 million St. Louis sent over for the buyout. Two year guys and even some other good players who would cost more.. contreras Abreu and Whitlock will be asked about.

The real question is are they willing to strip the farm of all its top prospects to get it done and possibly up the AAV payroll? which wouldn’t make Henry happy…I’m selling everyone on a one year deal and some on two. If they stand pat they have unpaired intellectual development .. but they are definitely not ret**ded

We’re still on the selling side, maybe thinking about climbing up the buying fence, but still selling at this point. i don’t think Breslow wants to give up what it would take to be a real WS contender this year. And I don’t think Henry wants to up the AAV payroll.

The Cards gave them $20m. If they have to, send some of that over with him. At least the 10m buyout.

Exactly. i like what we’re doing right now, and im not trying to being the local contrarian,…I believe its just too much to ask this year. they better not get rid of Eyanson or Arias. We NEED A BIG RHP in that rotation and Arias looks like the real deal hitting advanced pitching at SS. I really like the Primera kid catching. He’s one to watch the next couple years. I’d trade maybe a couple in the top ten and a bunch from 11-20.

If they make a solid offer for Abreu, I’m all ears.

If we’re sellers, not just Duran, I’m sure it doesn’t matter since we would have already waived the white flag on 2026.

PRETENDERS Currently there are 4 injured starters with no real time table on returns. they have no clue who’s starting this weekend because Breslow traded away all our starting pitching depth. Tolle is over 80ip already and has never gone past 120ip. our best hitter is going away for four games. We are in the easiest part of the schedule and the best team we played, the Yankees, had all their offense injured. we need another big bat…so doesa LOT of teams. we need bullpen help…so does a LOT of teams. we obviously need some starting depth down the stretch. we would have to empty the farm to be a real contender. when are all the starters coming back? when are our young soft azz players going to start playing again? We have a great starter and closer to trade. We also have some other pieces we could trade for a higher price. Whitlock Abreu Contreras i like these guys in Boston but if Breslow is overwhelmed, then you take the deal and you have all offseason until February to figure out 2027(?)…If done correctly, We could acquire the right players to either trade for the players we need this offseason, or keep and be legit contenders in 2027…or whenever we play again.
