  1. If he was 28-29 I might say he is who he is, but plenty of guys don’t hit their stride until their mid 20s. I was worried that Early had been over performing and looking at the analytics I’m going with that. He’s a good back rotation guy, which makes this trade a smart move IMO. I hope they both do well in their new homes. Especially Mead, even if he isn’t a fan of sweet Caroline…I’m not really either🤷‍♂️
  2. I like the deal. Especially if this kid is finally breaking out. So now I’m pretty sure we can bet that another starter will be traded for.
  3. As long as we don’t have to give up much. I don’t see anything special. A good ballplayer though.
  4. Starting pitching and a RHBwith some power. why a good starter? Crochet hasn’t even thrown a baseball. To expect him back is a tall order, never mind asking him to automatically be an ace again after 4+ months on the shelf. Please don’t expect much if anything from him right now. Maybe that’ll change after he starts throwing an actual baseball, but for now he’s still a scratch. We will need to really monitor Early with his elbow. Tolle and Bennett should not be counted on either as BOTH are at or right on top of their all time IP. A few more games each and they will be done. I doubt they take any chances with them. Maybe push Tolle a little but not Bennett after just returning last year from TJS. Gray will need some rest at some point and Suarez’ groin is still bothering him. we will absolutely need a starter that’s been there before and can handle the playoffs. If we can have a healthy Gray Suarez and Early, I’d feel a LOT better with another good name to add to that. Maybe two. and we all know we could use another. Bat in this line up. Go get the best available and adjust as needed. C OF SS 2b or even 3b since Durbin can move to 2nd if need be. Whoever will make this lineup better and is a good fit in that clubhouse. There will be some good starters and bats available. If they’re going to go for it then we should expect some top prospects to be saying goodbye. I’m ok with that as long as the names coming back are top players. A middle to top rotation arm for sure. Maybe a LHP out of the pen and a Big HR bat.
  5. This ownership needs more consistency and stability. I’m hoping that Tracy will be here a while. He’s got a good balance of analytics and being a baseball guy he’s got a good feel for the players and the game. He doesn’t get too up or down. I like him. i wasn’t a Cora fan from the very start. And after losing us draft pick and international money for using video during the game, I was even less of a fan. Trash can banging cheating clown…good riddance.
  6. He should be relieved of his interim duties and take on legit managerial duties for at least the next few years.
  7. I think more players would want Wong, even if a little less control. He’s looking like the better catcher this year.
  8. If they got a catcher who would you trade and/or DFA?
  9. Yes, they are both replacement players that will get exposed with too many ABs. Great players to have but not your main guys
  10. I wouldn’t even mind seeing Eyanson for a start in September too. I usually wouldn’t suggest a AA starter, but he’s dominating them, so Why not? id still like them to go trade for a guy like we did with Peavy. Would really take some weight off the shoulders of this rotation.
  11. And this team played far worse than that 500 team. Anyone who thought they didn’t have a chance was justified. Even after the winning streak I was skeptical because they go on one every July. But here we are and I am in the BUYERS lane now. I didn’t think they had a chance, but after legit beating the two best teams in the weak AL, myself, and everyone would be foolish to not want them to go get a bat another starter and a maybe a ring…
  12. We’ll, those are the needs so I guess we’ll see if Breslow can handle this
  13. I agree, a bat and a starter. We don’t need Skubal. Early is throwing at 75ft so it looks like sometime in August for him could be realistic. Maybe Peralta or that type? Not sure who will be available for some more Hr power. I just don’t want a guy who either hits bombs or Ks. May be a vet who’s been there before.
  14. These guys are starting to win me over…I said if they sweep this TB team I would be in the buy column or at least another step towards it,,,
  15. Id like that 1-2-3 as well. Right now it’s only gray and Suarez. Even if Crochet makes it back, he’s been out for a while and will definitely have to ramp it up again. That may go into September. He hasn’t even thrown a real baseball yet from what I understand. Early is throwing from 75ft, so that’s good. He should be back in August sometime as long as that elbow doesn’t start barking again. it’s the uncertainty with those two that has be a little concerned, as well as the other twos IP limits. its why I’d like an insurance policy down the stretch. Not a Skubal, which is why I mentioned a guy like Peralta or someone similar.
  16. I meant our original starting 5. Early will be back.(I just saw He’s throwing from 75 feet right now) that’s good. . Suarez within a couple weeks. I doubt we see Crochet for a while. if they go for it I still want a starter like we did with Jake Peavy, to eat some innngs to get through sept. Help with Tolle and Bennett IP limits…Peralta? I also would like a bat with some power behind it. 1-2 punch with Contreras.
  17. That’s why I’d just sell. To me, if we’re going to really compete for a WS ring, we need a bat and a starter. That’ll cost what I said it would which is why I’d sell. I mean, I’d make a trade for the future at the deadline if it made sense. Anything significant will cost one or both of Arias and Eyanson. Early would be an offseason sell since he’s hurt. But I’m keeping him. whitherspoon Gonzo and Phillips are not as far along as the other two. Maybe they finish strong and their value goes up a little for an offseason move.
  18. if they decide to go for it the We absolutely will need a starter and a big bat, so yea absolutely EVERY prospect is available . Our rotation is decimated and that was our strong point. Pitching wins games in the playoffs. Count on Gray and Suarez to be playoff starters. Everyone else is questionable. If I was all in in 2026, I’d go for a top starter and a BIg bat. Wipe out a good part of the top 10 in the farm system.
  19. Give him a couple more years. We’ll end with someone better.
  20. Crochet hasn’t even thrown a baseball yet. He’ll have to do that, then a long toss for a bit, and if no setbacks, maybe tick it up a little. He will have been out for a few months and people think he’s coming back a ball of fire? He’s got to ramp that arm back up again like spring training. Same with Early, who I believe is behind that’s timeline. Hopefully that forearm isn’t more than they think.. Tolle and Bennett will be non factors for the playoffs due to IP limits. Bello is Bello and Sandoval? Sure thing. I really like our chances in 2027 and beyond. But let’s be realistic about our rotation.we would need a starter and a big bat and hope to God Crochet can make it back AND pitch like an Ace. We also have a couple more game without Suarez as long as that groin heals good. there are team already better than us who will definitely be upgrading as well. I’m just not sure this is our year to sell the farm to go for it.
  21. They better give Roman a 1b mit at some point because it’s either there or DH in the future for him. The OF will be only if needed. Arias has been looking more and more like the real deal this year against advanced pitching. AAA call up soon.
