Homeruns are highly correlated with a hungry approach with hungry eyes. If you are hitting homeruns, your reads are correct, you are making contact out in front, you are pulling the ball, you are swinging your hips like the coach teaches in Happy Gilmore (RIP Chubs), and yes HR's really help. I do like the Durbin trade, and not only because of what we gave up (or #9 best SP for a versatile above average infielder who is immediately expected to be an everyday regular) - I also like his pull approach, defensive versatility, gritty demeanor. The only downside to me, is that its now yet another full time position locked up for the foreseeable future with a .711 OPS guy, which I expect to get better, but one less place to put a 1,000 OPS guy and yes I want one knowing that there are only like 5 in the league but guess what all 5 are on tems that do very well , so coincidence - I think not! Stop. Had you said that 2nd was as likely 4th, I might have been able to let that slide, but 1st place? Its also possible we finish last. Or at least finish 4th. It will be a competetive division, but give the competition a little more credit. Note: I honestly do believe that 2nd is as likely as 4th. I have a great idea. Lets have all 18 yr old non-drafted high school players on offense and have a 8 man rotation. Because we are 8 deep "regular rotation", we'll prob get a lot of starts from our regular starters. Because when one gets hurt, we'll just drop to 7 man rotation, down to 6 man.....Sounds like a guaranteed championship to me, Im on board. Yes, if Torontos starters miss 40, and our starters miss 10, we're likely to have a better record. But that doesnt mean that this is 100% true. On the flip, if we miss 40 starts from our rotation, except from one injury that we will not say.....I think we'll be better for it because I think our 6,7,8 pitchers are better than our 2,3,4 pitchers and Breslow wasted all that money. 100% true.
