  1. The difference is that we could trade all of our best players, have the lowest salary in the league and finish 0-162. But thats a baseball gripe. Breslow told his guys: you will do what we pay you to do. And did not give his players a chance to vent, ask. It was very authoritarian. The difference here is that is going beyond just baseball gripes and entering the world of not treating people well gripes. Ethics gripes. To find a comparison to what Breslow has done, I think you need to go back to how they handled Tito and planted stories about him pill popping. Cuz again, in that circumstance we are going beyond baseball gripes. So I guess I do agree that this ugliness goes back further than Breslow but man, did I really hope, we were past that kind of stuff. I would never turn on the red sox for their record or payroll. Ive turned on them because Breslow treats people badly. And I am a man of morals and ethics who really really really hates fascist/authoritarian YOU WILL DO WHAT WE PAY YOU TO DO type stuff What I wanted is when Breslow said to the team, you are paid to go play baseball, that is what you will do, we will not take questions....Is for the team to walk out. Not take the field. And Breslows whole nature is authoritarian. You ever hear him interview? Hes always talking about how hes the president and hes the final decision maker and hes the boss and hes the judge, jury, and executioner and he makes all the decisions. Im a vice president of a consulting company , I dont talk like that. Ive heard of directors talking to their staff like that. "IM THE DIRECTOR AND WHAT I SAY GOES" and usually, those people , get sacked. Cuz thats bad leadership. And if you are talking like that, its usually because you are ineffectual. Breslow is a bad communicator, a bad leader, short on ethics, short on respect, and treats people poorly. And he has costed the RS a lot, including my fandom. Now I wouldnt expect a lot of people here to care about me not being a RS fan currently, but a lot of my personal friends do, and they have asked: please come watch a game with me or please I need someone to banter with. And I say, "Ill come over and hang with you and ur kids, but Im deeply disappointed with the rs right now because [everything i just said]" And most of my friends are like would you come back to sox fandom if they sold the team? And I say, I dont even need all that. Just breslow gone. And they have told me, well both of the people who I have had this conversation with have told me: thats fair. So thats where I am.
  2. I have no issue with you enjoying the games, watching the games, being optimistic for a turnaround or even making excuses for Breslow. But when I am asked to find examples of people rallying against criticizing Breslow and you are like "well, I think the moves he made were better than the ones that we suggested, so I think its hollow to criticize him" and its in response to people criticizing Breslow...I think its a fair example. Nothing against ya, but these comments are defending Breslow I think Breslow should get s*** canned today? Do you? If not, thats okay. But whatever argument you make against firing breslow counts as defending breslow. Its okay, you can do it.
  3. What about the one when you said that criticizing a GM who made better moves then most of us here suggested feels hollow? Thats not carrying water for a failing GM? YOu literally said criticizing him feels hollow
  4. I agree with the first part, but I do think its worse now. How many ugly divorces have we had recently? Feels like an uptick. And I dont think we are all super frustrated with how this team has operated since 2019. I think we all should be. And I understand blaming the tippy top (higher than Breslow) but me, the reason why I am specifically not watching right now are specifically what Breslow said to Whitlock. I would like to speak with Whitlock and whisper some things into his ear. Like bro, you should file a grievance to get out of your contract. You shouldnt let him speak to you like that. Dont pitch for him. Lets call the union first. Lets get this back in the news. If I was whitlock , I would have cut a WWE style promo on breslow
  5. I assure you, Im not watching. Live or on TV. Im checking the box score in the morning and cheering when the lose.
  6. This isnt defending Breslow: ?? Brez did better than most of the ideas thrown around here, last winter
  7. Implying that I shouldnt show up here because I said I dont care about this team until Breslow is gone is not carrying water for Breslow? Hey, im not watching. And Breslow isnt ruining my weekends. My weekends are fantastic. I brunch every sunday with my hot girlfriend. I do still like coming in here and chatting with people I like , like you for example. But I do think that suggesting that I should not post here because I said im not watching cuz breslow disgusts me counts as carrying water for breslow. I dont think you do it alot, and this was the only example from you i could find. But I feel it fits the task of find examples of people sticking up for breslow. And I didnt want my arfing to be 100% JoeB and MoonSlav. I do agree its an imperfect fit but if im breslow and i see you say to one of my haters "why show up at all then?" Im liking the post (if im breslow)
  8. wooooooo wooooo howling like a basset (my fave)
  9. Hi, Im a puppy-dog who barks at people carrying water for Breslow unprompted and unnecessarily. Stay tuned for a couple secs.
  10. Yep. I think a bodytype like Romans can play OF when you are young, but eventually the bulk causes a decrease in fleet-footedness and the injury risk starts outweighing the excess defensive value of having Roman there. Hes had a few back injuries, and Im not sure he can give you more than 120 games in the OF. Maybe next year and the one after, but not 100% its the right long term home.
  11. Im with the bagheads. I mean , I wouldnt give up a night to watch these lifeless, pathetic losers...Even if I had a free ticket....But if like I had to be there for some reason, Id be hiding my face too. This is an embarrassing team put together by a smug ego-tripper who is fumbling his way though. This chump (bres) cant even fake it till he makes it. But if some people want to high five over all the guys we didnt sign, I mean have at it. Its weird, but fine.
  12. Okay, but this GM specifically needs to be blamed for taking this team straight to last place. Most preseason predictions were low on our offense. And now we have the worst offense.....since......ever? Oh and weve ruined multiple relationships. Even the ownership had to correct Breslow when he was like it was a joint decision....They were like what? no , it was you. It all reeks of dysfunction. If you cant turn around and identify Breslow as a problem here, then you are incapable of blaming a GM.
  13. Hey hey ho ho, craig breslow has got to go
  14. yes, if a bunch of randos on a sox forum propose signings / trades that may have had mixed results (we dont know for sure that players struggling elsewhere should have struggled here)....Then the only logical conclusion that a GM who took this team straight to last place, with a bunch of experts who preseason said "19th best offense, pass" , when that GM also ruined multiple relationships (Tek aint coming back) and spit in the face of multiple players (bregman, whitlock, devers).....Then the only conclusion is that the GM cannot be blamed ever. I wanted Schwarber and Bregman, adn I think (sincerely) with GM Drewski, we wouldnt be here in last place.
  15. some people are high fiving about all the guys we didnt sign. Calm down, last place
