    If they add 2 hitters, with OPS who were higher than .850 LAST YEAR. Not 3 years ago, for 2 monhths , he had an OPS of .850 and thats who he may be......Because thats just more of the same. Not going after good hitters, going after if maybe potentially could be , if you squint really hard and use reach logic hes a good hitter WE need good hitters, and your bar for what counts as good is too low. What are we even trying to do here? Now I understand you are trying to be reasonable, and assume tight budget and gotta use what we have who can contribute anything - and you are just in my opinion letting them off the hook too easy. A team that let themselves get outbid for the top hitters is exactly what youve seen teh last 6 years. Are you wanting more of the same? Yoshida, when healthy, is an above average hitter. But you appear to me to be more interested in not letting the 36m committed to him go to waste, than you are in building a team that can beat the yankees and dodgers. If your lineup goes Roman Anthony, Bregman, Yoshida, Hoskins, then we might as well jsut punt.

    When you start talking about limiting Ks and control of the strike zone, you are talking about a passive hitter. Meet pitches out in front. Comit to what you see, drive the ball. I dont want to see us revolve our batting order around limiting strikeouts. IF hes staying back and slapping singles, then he cant hit between 2 and 5. Im fine with him leading off and fine with him hitting 6,7,8,9 But are we just gonna put out a team of slap hitters? Are we this comfortable with mediocrity. More than anything, I think the bar is too low. I want aggressive hitters. Who hunt. And are confident in their pitch recognition. Guys who try to punish mistakes and hit the ball out in front. None of this , wait and sit back and slap it through the infield. WE have more of that than we need in Roman alone. I think Masa is redundant with Roman.

    I have a hard time believing that if you ahve Moreno, Carroll and Marte, you can get away with some holes. But, they didnt last year. Can we get all 3, cuz that would be amazing.

    From my standpoint , when you initially said rushed, I was ready to disagree because Im a water seeks its own level believer, and I think a lot of time - people tend to not want to blame prospects who they like so they blame organizational decisions - and let the prospect themself off the hook But then when you elaborated, and clarified that you werent necessarily saying that KC would have all these built in excuses going forward and you merely meant that he wasnt ready (as opposed to pointing to long term damage), I had no problem with you saying rushed. He may have stunk because he was rushed last year, but if he still stinks 3 years from now, it wont be becasue he was rushed at one point in his career. And if calling him up and giving him a chance a bit too early haunts him going forward because of like long term confidence issues, then the dude was too mentally soft to begin with (but I dont think thats going to be the case)

    Trading someone named Arias to the Twins feels weird. Wonder if he'd change his name like when we picked up a former Twin named David Arias.

    Both the injuries and the lack of arm (from a 6'3 dude) have the same thing in common. Bro is allergic to lifting weights. And Breslow called him out recently for it.

    You should always weigh most recent season more. Yes, when a disparity exists between last season and 2 seasons ago, a player is more likely to perform according to his most recent season. But I agree that if he was 25, you would weight the 24 season even more.

    Sure, if they eat some $$. I dont want to allocate half our budget to sale. Need more than 20-25m for bats.

    Im not interested in sale at 18m. Im surprised he has positive value at all. Now at the deadline, when there is only like 8m remaining on the 18m, Im very interested (assuming hes healthy) Fits the budget better.

    Most likely to get injured in RF at fenway, but 3b might be second. Ball comes at you fast and theres a lot of diving around.

    sure. Paredes plays 3b and suarez plays 1b though. Hes too old to play 3b full season (my opinion). He can play there sometimes. Like when we had Turner. He played some 2b, 3b, but also played a lot of 1b and DH because your body just cant handle 150 games at 3b when you are over 35.
