  1. Especially if its a loud and embarrassing hammer of justice (to Breslow).
  2. Okay, but what if we got Yordan and Jordan (Walker)? Then we can find a time machine, and go get Alex Gordon....
  3. I like him. Sure hes not the most optimistic guy here, but the toxic optimists who come in here and complain about fans complaining are far far worse.
  4. I might watch a game for the first time in weeks if they brought up Ward. Good job seeing the big picture. My best friend was at the game last night, he's a plastic surgeon from VT. WEll hes from Cranston, but he currently practices (is that the right word for performing surgery?) in VT. I assume he was in Boston on a conference. I was annoyed cuz I was trying to ask him how long I should bake this flounder for, and he wasnt responding fast enough, but thats neither here nor there (its 15-20 mins btw, TY alexa). He was like 8 rows behind first base. I was getting pictures. THere was nobody between row 2 and row 8. Great seats in front of him, empty. I know the weather wasnt great but it seemed pretty bad. Then he was texting me that there were a lot of Phillies fans making a lot of noise. So you have a lot of empty seats and a large visitor contingent. This is probably not new news to you, Ive seen MVP talk about the visitors helping sell seats. I dont mind it. If Im like from Philly and I work in boston and I get a chance to see my team rarely, Im glad that the sox are so bad that mr philly has a good selection of seats. Anyways, my buddy ends up catching literally 4 foul balls. They werent all foul balls, some of them were like contreras tossing the ball into the stands. But he picked up 4 balls, and I have to think its a reflection of how empty it was. He kept one for his kids and gave the other 3 away to random kids. My gal asked if he was on TV scooping all those foul balls, I said I dont know, Im not watching this team! King of Providence doesnt waste time on losers! Baby, you know that.
  5. Sorry H2, answered my own q. We are indeed 4th in the al in pitchign and defense. Hooray. Maybe some of our pitching and defense lovers will learn a lesson? Hint: they wont, they will do extreme mental gymnastics to justify a victory lap.
  6. If they are firesaling theyll take a bandaid but not pay much in return value for one.
  7. We have the worst luck, just cant stop facing cy young pitchers.
  8. Does somebody have a #6 starter that just fell out of their rotation and they are looking to cut like D May? Cuz then maybe if we offer a promising prospect for that pitcher and we tell the rival GM's exec assistant we are willing to give up actual talent for someone they were going to cut anyway.....Then maybe we can get put through to thir GM. ANd can evolve the convo/bait and switch from there. Other than that, nobody is taking Breslows calls. Gotta incentivize them jsut to pick up the phone.
  9. RS perspective: Lets get hitting before the deadline? Answer: Cant do it, nobody is giving up their bats yet, its too early, would have to really really overpay Lets ditch hitting before the deadline? Answer: Cant do it, nobody looking to add tlaent/payroll right now. Wont get any value. The market is theirs. Lets trade hitting for pitching? ANswer: Cant do it, pitching is at a premium. Arms win championships , nobody is giving you stud pitching, youll have to way overpay Lets trade pitching for hitting? Answer: Cant do it, nobody is going to give you a stud that helps you win every day for someone who only takes the ball one out of 5 days Never seems to be a red sox market. OR maybe these are just excuses for a team thats last place 4 of the last 7 years
  10. Breslow wouldnt take him if he was free. Once you cross the dictator, theres no coming back.
  11. Saying that we cant fire Breslow creates an air of immunity that I dont believe should exist. I do like when you call him bad. But to me, I believe there is a line that I feel he crossed that there is no coming back from. If one of my directors who reports to me spoke to a front line analyst the way Bres spoke to his players, I would fire that director on the spot. You will respect your fellow humans. I dont care if they are the janitor! You will respect humans or I will not be associated with you. Everyone has their line, Breslow crossed mine.
  12. The difference is that we could trade all of our best players, have the lowest salary in the league and finish 0-162. But thats a baseball gripe. Breslow told his guys: you will do what we pay you to do. And did not give his players a chance to vent, ask. It was very authoritarian. The difference here is that is going beyond just baseball gripes and entering the world of not treating people well gripes. Ethics gripes. To find a comparison to what Breslow has done, I think you need to go back to how they handled Tito and planted stories about him pill popping. Cuz again, in that circumstance we are going beyond baseball gripes. So I guess I do agree that this ugliness goes back further than Breslow but man, did I really hope, we were past that kind of stuff. I would never turn on the red sox for their record or payroll. Ive turned on them because Breslow treats people badly. And I am a man of morals and ethics who really really really hates fascist/authoritarian YOU WILL DO WHAT WE PAY YOU TO DO type stuff What I wanted is when Breslow said to the team, you are paid to go play baseball, that is what you will do, we will not take questions....Is for the team to walk out. Not take the field. And Breslows whole nature is authoritarian. You ever hear him interview? Hes always talking about how hes the president and hes the final decision maker and hes the boss and hes the judge, jury, and executioner and he makes all the decisions. Im a vice president of a consulting company , I dont talk like that. Ive heard of directors talking to their staff like that. "IM THE DIRECTOR AND WHAT I SAY GOES" and usually, those people , get sacked. Cuz thats bad leadership. And if you are talking like that, its usually because you are ineffectual. Breslow is a bad communicator, a bad leader, short on ethics, short on respect, and treats people poorly. And he has costed the RS a lot, including my fandom. Now I wouldnt expect a lot of people here to care about me not being a RS fan currently, but a lot of my personal friends do, and they have asked: please come watch a game with me or please I need someone to banter with. And I say, "Ill come over and hang with you and ur kids, but Im deeply disappointed with the rs right now because [everything i just said]" And most of my friends are like would you come back to sox fandom if they sold the team? And I say, I dont even need all that. Just breslow gone. And they have told me, well both of the people who I have had this conversation with have told me: thats fair. So thats where I am.
  13. I have no issue with you enjoying the games, watching the games, being optimistic for a turnaround or even making excuses for Breslow. But when I am asked to find examples of people rallying against criticizing Breslow and you are like "well, I think the moves he made were better than the ones that we suggested, so I think its hollow to criticize him" and its in response to people criticizing Breslow...I think its a fair example. Nothing against ya, but these comments are defending Breslow I think Breslow should get s*** canned today? Do you? If not, thats okay. But whatever argument you make against firing breslow counts as defending breslow. Its okay, you can do it.
  14. What about the one when you said that criticizing a GM who made better moves then most of us here suggested feels hollow? Thats not carrying water for a failing GM? YOu literally said criticizing him feels hollow
  15. I agree with the first part, but I do think its worse now. How many ugly divorces have we had recently? Feels like an uptick. And I dont think we are all super frustrated with how this team has operated since 2019. I think we all should be. And I understand blaming the tippy top (higher than Breslow) but me, the reason why I am specifically not watching right now are specifically what Breslow said to Whitlock. I would like to speak with Whitlock and whisper some things into his ear. Like bro, you should file a grievance to get out of your contract. You shouldnt let him speak to you like that. Dont pitch for him. Lets call the union first. Lets get this back in the news. If I was whitlock , I would have cut a WWE style promo on breslow
  16. I assure you, Im not watching. Live or on TV. Im checking the box score in the morning and cheering when the lose.
  17. This isnt defending Breslow: ?? Brez did better than most of the ideas thrown around here, last winter
  18. Implying that I shouldnt show up here because I said I dont care about this team until Breslow is gone is not carrying water for Breslow? Hey, im not watching. And Breslow isnt ruining my weekends. My weekends are fantastic. I brunch every sunday with my hot girlfriend. I do still like coming in here and chatting with people I like , like you for example. But I do think that suggesting that I should not post here because I said im not watching cuz breslow disgusts me counts as carrying water for breslow. I dont think you do it alot, and this was the only example from you i could find. But I feel it fits the task of find examples of people sticking up for breslow. And I didnt want my arfing to be 100% JoeB and MoonSlav. I do agree its an imperfect fit but if im breslow and i see you say to one of my haters "why show up at all then?" Im liking the post (if im breslow)
