  1. Where would Devers play if not 3rd base? I suggested earlier him to DH and Yoshida to LF but Yoshida seems to be a bad fielder himself. Trading Casas (LHB) for a need like pitching, catching, RHB seems like a good idea, putting Devers on 1st. Our offense was pretty effective without him. Not signing O'Neill and Anthony also being LHB, makes it even more of a good idea. Pete Alonso came to mind as an off-season acquisition. Hes a RHB and Devers needs home run protection at the plate, though not exactly Big Papi, Manny combo.
  2. Sasaki MERRY CHRISTMAS
  3. I still think they'll get one of those bats and if they do, I think it'll be a successful off-season. I don't think they'll get a new catcher but I don't think they're trying to win the WS next season but in a few seasons. They do have to make the playoffs though.
  4. I think they just wanted to outbid the Yankees. It's win win he went to NL.
  5. I wasnt considering Anthony but I was considering Abreu. Still it seems like a seamless transition since Devers isn't that good at an important defensive position and Yoshidas position isn't as important. DH should be for power hitters anyway.
  6. What about Yoshida playing LF and Devers at DH and getting a serviceable 3B man, especially on D, if not Bregman?
  7. I vote for Teoscar. He was our initial aim, he isn't a Scott Boras client and he fills what we need without shuffling or trading anybody. Mainly its about Bregman being a Boras client though. It's not worth it.
  8. It seems like it would've made life easier if we just signed him and focus on pitching and upgrading defense. People were talking about needing a RH bat even with him.
  9. They should get another bull pen arm. It's so deflating for the whole team to lose a lead.
  10. I think I will go with signing Fried, Eovaldi, David Robertson, and Pete Alonso (as DH if Yoshida can play LF, if not Teoscar or resign O'Neill.) Jansen as backup C too. I feel we need another starting pitcher and bullpen arm still but not for trade unless it's prospects and cash.
  11. I see. I've only heard about them doing that for little league players but I dont doubt it. He's good and was the best player in two WS but he's just too much money for one player and doesn't even cover our weaknesses.
  12. I can't stand Soto, standing up there, trying to intimidate the pitcher all the time. I agree we need another big bat but we should spend money on pitching, relief pitching and a right hand batter. How about Pete Alonso?
  13. There's no doubt about it but if it weren't for some blown saves after the break, it could've been a different story at the end. Just like the offense was great but after so much pitching disappointment, it too started to falter at the end.
  14. Hello, I am new. I couldn't reply to anyone's comment so I will say that I was somewhat satisfied with the lack of movement at the trade deadline, though thought they would've done better. I don't know why John Henry got rid of Mookie or Jon Lester before him, for that matter but think he came up with a good nucleus of a team, sans pitching, which needs help. I thought getting rid of Sale was OK because maybe he just needed a new place.
