  1. Yes! Absolutely. He is not capable of building a roster capable of winning a World Series. He got lucky in Florida, but now he is a has been without a plan. All he can do is destroy an organization from the inside out! Dynamic leaders attract the brightest and the best. Yet in our organization, they all fled the first chance they got.
  2. The last ten days have been brutal as far as our pitching goes. It would help if the zombies would hit. The lack of power on this team is not helping.
  3. Man! Sale Has no movement on the fastball, that he throws too much. Got to mix in more secondary pitches to keep hitters honest.
  4. A realistic view of 2017. This year definitely has to be considered a success as we have repeated as division champs, But does anybody else feel that anything short of a spot in the World Series is a bit of a let down?
  5. I guarantee someone will take a chance on Pablo next season. GM's alway think they can catch lightening in a bottle.
  6. Way back in the day someone told me Jim rice could hit a golf ball longer than most pros.
  7. You can't make this stuff up! Detroit should send him a gift basket and a box of chocolates.
  8. We won 93 games with our current strategy. Can they really just change it up at the drop of a hat? Our guys saw tons of good pitches to hit this season, but did not take advantage of it. Mookie alone, must have popped up at least a dozen pitches in 2017 that in 2016, he would have turned into Taters! Something was off this year with most of our guys. I think it was injuries. But confidence also seemed to be lacking. Can you fix that in 4 days? I don't think so.
  9. They have verlander and Dallas going against sale and Pomeranz. They have seen Pomeranz and we have not seen Dallas or verlander in this series. Number 3 for them will probably be peacock, seems like fister might be a better option for us.
  10. Do we have enough healthy bodies to do much pinch hitting?
  11. Farrell has overcome season ending injuries to several pitchers. He has overcome poor decisions by dombrowski, i.e. Trading Shaw and giving Pablo the starting 3rd base job. He has overcome an endless stream of walking wounded, pedroia, Hanley, boegarts, Moreland, Bradley, Nunez and price. He has overcome some head scratching under performers this year. Betts and porcello. He has overcome a lineup with a complete lack of power. And most important, he has overcome a Yankees team that has played over their head for almost the entire year. I don't know what else he could have done better this year, except maybe grab a bat and pencil himself into the lineup. Just think what he could have been if he had a decent GM to work with?
  12. Smith's arm looks a little tired. Pitches are less sharp.
  13. Devers swing looks good. If he is straight, he could be an X factor in the playoffs. We have to get benintendi locked in as well.
  14. One series at a time! We need to focus on Houston!
  15. He had a bad shoulder from day one. Will he be healthy next year? I think it affected his power this year and hopefully he gets that back for the playoffs and next year.
  16. Tremendous win today. This team literally runs hot or cold. So glad they came into the playoffs through the front door and not the back door!
  17. Does this feel like deja vu to anyone else. Did not this same kind of limp to the finish line happen last year?
  18. We have several more years of numerous dl trips for pedroia. Th guy makes bananas look durable. News flash for Sox management, when pedroia is hurt, which is often, just put him on the dl and quit trying to nurse him along. He's too fragile for that.
  19. If you want staton then young pitching will have to be in the equation. That means Rodriguez, groome, matta to start with. I am not prepared to go there for staton.
  20. I am not mad about the trade, I see why desperate dave made the trade. We needed an 8th inning guy and Thornburg'a stats said he could be that guy. Where I get frustrated with dave about this trade is: 1.) thornburg had a history that says the arm could go at any moment. You would think after being burned by smith, he would have learned his lesson. But no! 2.) dave knew moncada was going to be part of the sale trade. Why include Shaw? Did he really feel pablo was going to bounce back? Or did he have total confidence that Marco was going to have a breakout year? 3.) he overpaid. Did he really fall so in love with Thornburg that he could not have walked away from the table and moved on? Hopefully dave pursues ohtani with the same balls out aggressiveness that he pursued smith, Kimbrel and Thornburg!!!
  21. Desperate dave needs to put his energy into signing ohtani! Ps: I would say desperate dave should get one of the whiz kids in the operations department to look into this, but then I remembered he ran them all off last offseason and all have left in there are Fred flintstone, Barney rubble and mr. Maggoo.
  22. It would be nice if we get Nunez healthy. Pedroia is burnt toast out there and a detriment to the team.
  23. Pitching, defense and timing hitting are the keys to a championship. The hitting is what is driving every body crazy this year. It is so unpredictable, Take today's game. We have 1 run through 7 innings and our offense looks terrible, then explode for 4 runs in the 8th.
  24. Pablo has some serious timing issues at the plate. With some confidence and improved timing, he should be a decent bat.
