Not signing ohtani is probably desperate dave’s Biggest failure to date. I swear desperate dave could not get laid in a women's Prison even if he had a hand full of get out of jail free cards on him.

Stats say Adams mashes right handed pitching and Travis singles to death left handed pitching. Sounds like a very good platoon situation!

Well that hurt! Desperate dave needs to quit spending all day looking at pictures of verlander’s squeeze and get to work! To bad all those bright youngsters bolted the organization a couple years ago because desperate Dave needs a lot of help right about now! The first tool in the desperate dave toolbox is to overspend after periods of inactivity, in order to convince the weak minded that he knows what he is doing.

If we had hung on to Margot, would we have needed to rush benintendi to the majors? If we had hung into Shaw, would we have needed to rush devers to the majors? Desperate dave has a problem figuring out how to build a team properly so it has adequate front line players and adequate depth. We need to abandon the fruitless search for an ultra expense big bat and build sensibly with necessary depth. That means an affordable first baseman with some power and upside (Adams), another mid level starter, and two relievers.

I am devastated that we missed out on ohtani. That hurts! I think we need more pitching and sign Matt Adams to play first base for us, I think Adams swing is custom made for Fenway. Between price’s elbow and rodriguez’s Knee, we need more pitching, starting pitching. There are some decent arms available, desperate dave needs to go get another stud starter and a couple relievers.

I really hope we do not trade any of our outfielders. I am more than William not to show young the door and give Brentz a shot. I am very hestitant to sign Martinez as we already have a ton of walking/ repeatedly injured players. I am also not a fan of hosmer and starting to sour on Santana. I would like to see us sign Matt Adams as I think his swing is custom made for Fenway.

Different trade idea. What about abreu? What players make sense for Chicago that would allow us to secure abreu?

If we complete the trade for abreu, is that enough of a bat for us? Seems like with abreu in Boston and Travis in Pawtucket, first base is covered.

The White Sox are at least two years away from doing anything. Bradley makes no sense. Seems to me chavis and raudes should get this deal done,

Will we ever know how much of what happened was Ben and how much was Larry? I think the signing of Hanley and Pablo was 100 percent Larry! I think porcello’s extension was 100 percent Ben! Bottom line is desperate dave ran off all those young studs in the baseball operations department and is winging it on his own! Our job is to prepare ourselves for a team that resembles the current Detroit fiasco in a few years! Ps: as long as desperate Dave is running the show, I do not think we get another ring. Just a couple of years of very close!

Isn’t JD an injury waiting to happen? Are we saying that between banana boy pedroia, JD, price and Hanley, we are trying to build a dl that is more expensive than the entire Tampa bay roster?

I saw him play a lot in those previous years that he played, but none in 2017, and I thought his defense was average and his arm pretty decent. He was always a guesser at the plate with a big wind swing, not very good at picking up the spin on the ball. I think this year his shoulders were healthy because the bat speed returned to what it was a few years ago. In my mind, he deserves an opportunity in spring training to win the 4th outfielder job, but we need to sign someone (Granderson for instance) for him to compete with.

If healthy Cabrera could be a dangerous dh. The biggest problem is that unlike Ortiz, Cabrera’s bat speed is slowing down.

If we think Duda is not our type guy. Then how about trading for abreau? We give up defense but get a masher with two years of control left.

I’m worried that JD is a walking injury time bomb. If desperate Dave is serious about Stanton, then he will have to play jeter’s game and that means prospects and paying full boat on the salary. Can benintendi play first base? Ala yaz?

A couple years ago, I had mookie and Swihart as untouchable. But then Swihart ripped up his ankle and he has never been the same. Without him, who becomes the third catcher? Romanski?

I could not agree more. We need to replenish the pipeline. I still remain hopeful that we can develop some starters.

If he is healthy. We had a string of walking wounded last season and if we can end that next season, it could be worth a few more wins.

Add in the fact that both received a qo and neither seems like a smart signing, Then in my mind the real question becomes is Duda an upgrade over Moreland. Moreland is the better defender and sadly Moreland is probably better on the bases. Moreland did try to play through a broken big toe and his stats were not that bad. Moreland would probably be cheaper. Unfortunately Moreland did not provide the veteran leadership we needed in the locker room last season.
