  1. Amen brother! Especially if dave is looking at a report from the medical staff that says price’s elbow is shot. Unfortunately we do not have access to those, so we can only speculate on price’s health. Nevertheless I still think dave can sign 1b Adams, sp Vargas and Lhrp McGee and we are good to go for next season. I would still like us to sign kintzler as well. Especially since kimbrel’s trade value has never been higher than right now!
  2. I think you gave all our pitchers a giant collective nightmare.
  3. I still think desperate Dave is carrying a torch for abreu.
  4. Even if Guzman was a top 20 prospect, the price the Yankees paid to Miami seemed very light.
  5. And who In their right mind would ever have fired a great GM like Theo?
  6. At one point I considered Swihart and betts as untouchable.
  7. 15 wins after the league suspends him for 30 games?
  8. Did anyone else hear that Wright got arrested for domestic abuse?
  9. His bat speed is slowing down considerably. Is it because of injury or age?
  10. I phone spell check gets me again! My bad!
  11. The point is mute! Stanton would not waive the no trade clause. The emphasis is not what the marlins could have had, it is what would have enticed Stanton. Kraft gives Brady rent free space at patriots place. Maybe if Stanton has something like what Brady has, we could have gotten him free space outside Fenway. Point is we needed to work the Stanton side of the equation, Problem is I do not think New Miami management took the time to learn stanton’s Hot buttons, so they could make the best possible deal. They just wanted his contract off the books. This was a huge missed opportunity for those guys.
  12. Groome had a rough year last year, he injured himself in the first game of the year and then his father ran into all kinds of legal trouble. That is a lot of a 17-18 year old to deal with. However for a couple of weeks there, he showed us why he is a prospect. The ball jumps out of his hand. His stuff is beyond electric! His curveball could become kershaw like. I saw him once on one of his best outings of the year and he blew me away with the movement on his stuff. Yes he needs to work on control, but how many 18 year he olds don’t. No player in the sox system has nearly as much upside as groome. The gamble for desperate Dave is if groome ever reaches his potential.
  13. Leon clearly handles sale and to a lesser extent porcello better than Vazquez. But Vazquez is the better hitter.
  14. No one on this board is as anti dave as me, and I can not call him out for anything on either ohtani or Stanton,
  15. Good pitching beats good hitting!
  16. Very true! Maybe they should start looking for relocation options now. Vegas for example!
  17. As far as free agent pitching goes. I am looking at starter Vargas.(if healthy) And 2 relievers from kintzler, Hughes, dukes and McGhee.
  18. I was watching some film of Zach Duke. He seems to generate a decent amount of ground balls. Anybody think he is on dave’s radar?
  19. How do we feel about signing goins as our starting 2nd baseman until pedroia is healthy? He had a decent year north of the border and can also play short.
  20. Looking at what Miami got for Stanton and Gordon and it seems to be a self fulfilling acknowledgement of the old axiom “ you can not cut your way to prosperity”
  21. There is no difference in the win loss record if the Yankees win a game 8 to 6 or 11 to 6. With better pitching, we can beat the stacked Yankees lineup 5 to 4. But we need more pitching.
  22. Congrats to the Yankees. They got the premier power bat in all of baseball for Castro and a bunch of tier 2 minor leaguers. For the record, I was never on suicide watch when it came to trading for Stanton. Same for signing Martinez, as I am scared of the frequent trips to the dl. And I am not really interested in either royals infielder. I am all for signing more pitching. A solid starter and two solid lefty relievers. For first base I prefer Matt Adams, but would settle for a return of Moreland.
  23. Amen brother!
  24. No we need more pitching! There are some decent arms out there and desperate dave’s Job is to sign a starter and two relievers.
  25. Amen brother! They have done terribly run sports teams in that city.
