  1. I think grey is a fine number 3 in our rotation. the “hole” is that our rotation does not have a number 2 starter. Someone that can take the ball in game 2 of a playoff series and have a reasonable expectation that he can outduel whoever Toronto, the Yankees. Cleveland, detriot or Seattle is pitching against us! does anybody think grey can go toe to toe against fried?? I don’t!!
  2. Witherspoon has not thrown a pitch in pro ball yet! Not all 1st round draft picks that did well in college, become average or better pros! I think Romero has a chance to be the next average or better position player in our system.
  3. He starts the year on the DL or DFA or traded!
  4. The “good ball player” hole on our team is a number 2 starting pitcher! another left handed relief pitcher would also be greatly appreciated.
  5. 1.) anthony 2.) Bregman 3.) Duran 4.) Contreras 5.) abreau 6.) story 7.) mayer 8.) narveaz 9.) rafeala bench - Hamilton, Eaton, sogard, Wong Cassas starts the year on the DL.
  6. One of the beat reporters said we offered 6 years and 171.5 million. Some people think the cubs are going hard after Bregman. Others think it is Arizona. no one is mentioning Detroit, but everybody says our offer mirrors the Detroit offer from last year!
  7. Radio guys say Bregman is choosing between us the the cubs!! looks like both teams have 5 year deals on the table
  8. So if Crawford and Sandoval start the year on the DL, who is our 5th starter? (Assuming crochet, gray, bello and Oviedo are the first 4)
  9. I thought giolita was a win until he broke down on us.
  10. Assuming we resign Bregman, does bres-slow still pursue signing a lefty reliever ???
  11. So who are we bidding against? Detroit?
  12. The question is, does he get the pitch movement back after the surgery? if yes, he was a decent pitcher. if no, there is always the bullpen.
  13. Wouldn’t the earliest houck could return is around June 27?
  14. I wonder if we can get the Bregman signing done this week, because it appears the Phillies and Mets are in on bichete now!!!!
  15. I think someone said we offered 5 years and 160 million
  16. I think bres-slow continues to push hard to bring Bregman back
  17. Hence the push for Bregman. I think Tolle and early can also help as lefties in the bullpen. Especially after Moran flames out the hole in the rotation behind crochet is our biggest problem!
  18. In college, I tore my acl, mcl, pcl and the patella tendon (all on one play from scrimmage) and it was 18 months for the patella tendon to heal. two years without being able to play sports was very hard.
  19. Patella tendon injuries are the longest to heal! April 1st sounds very aggressive
  20. I think we are already at 4 years. Will we go to 6 years?? Or will the cubs get him
  21. I think bres-slow is trying very hard to do whatever he can to get Bregman signed.
  22. 2024 Duran is worth a top of the rotation starter 2025 Duran. Not so much! Bres-slow playing the long game apparently
  23. Health is a wild card for all 30 teams! And injuries happen to all 30 teams. And it seems injuries always strike where teams have the least amount of depth! Another reason to start the year with as much quality depth as follows.
