    If bregman comes back and performs s he has, I think it increses his odds that he opts out. He's not getting any younger and one would think he'd like to compete for another ring before he retires.

    If he comes back and looks like he did in the beginning of the year then the chances increase that he opts out. At this stage of his career he probably wants another shot at a ring.

    kc doesn't have enough bat to be a 1B, sogard has on OPS below .700, so he may not have enough stick either.

    Again, it's not just him and I that have suggested it. And it's just as likely that his confidence continues to get crushed by being overmatched at the major league level as it is by him being sent down. You act like it's never happened before in the history of the game.

    I believe bregman is expected to be back long before next season. Although, I do agree that the injury likely stops him from opting out. Which I do believe he would have had he continued to perform as he was. At this point in his career, I would think he wants to play on a winner with another shot at a ring.
