  1. As you say "no f***ing s***" but the Sox have tried to win for far too long with below average SP.
  2. i agree that would be the strategy for Bloom but the Sox need to go ALL IN on Yamamoto. Not only is he better but he fits the age group that Bloom was trying to assemble. At 30 with that type of workload behind him would steer me away unless it was a 2-3 yr deal at a reasonable cost. Breslow needs to make SIGNIFIGANT upgrades to the Sox SP. I don't see Nola becoming available and Snell would be costly. I think Yamamoto and a tree for a young mLB ready SP would be the best way to go.
  3. 20 for 20 NON PITCHING makes sense?????/
  4. well with position players at least
  5. new to this conversation but why is it only 10 million? Is that all we had to spend on a SP?
  6. yes we need a 2B as well but eventually Story will slide there when Mayer arrives
  7. hopefully the new GM isn't another Henry puppet
  8. is everyone here not glad that Bloom decided to sign Kluber rather than bringing Eovaldi back last offseason?
  9. wake me when he reaches Boston on a full-time basis. i will be the first to admit being wrong if/when he becomes our everyday 2B
  10. if the Astros win the WS I am going to barf.
  11. that was a high pick though and one that shocked the experts. It was apparently done to insure we could also get Jordan which is also not looking so great. I think it is a waste when you spend that high a pick on a guy who 4 years later is not really that close to {if ever} becoming our starting 2B. Just saying..
  12. gonna find it tough to find one interested in the job
  13. i have been saying for a long time now that Henry is the real problem in particular his current ideals and philosophy. I actually got kicked off another forum for simply voicing my displeasure with both Bloom and especially Henry. I wonder what those members are thinking these days. I am betting Bloom is actually a much better gM/exec than we ever got to see as he was likely hamstrung from Henry's orders. I'd love to hear both DD and Bloom speak openly about how it was to work under this guy.
  14. IF Yorke ever becomes the Red Sox STARTING 2B then I will admit to being wrong but that is a long way off IMO
  15. not as much as I do
  16. When Bloom was fired I had positive thoughts for the team going forward. Now a month later not so much. It seems many are staying away from interviews and that the replacement will simply come from with-in or an inexperienced ex player like Kapler or Breslow.
  17. i said from day 1 that it was a bad decisions. based on the rankings every other MLB team knew the same
  18. or 3 out of his 4 years on the job
  19. anyone who takes this job needs to make sure they do their homework on the team philosophy going forward
  20. I totally agree with this post but DD is laughing in Philly right now whine his old position sits vacant
  21. Yeah let's bring in the next GM and keep the same model Henry wants and we can finish last 3 of the next 4 years too since you seem to be so down on DD
  22. i doubt Henry gave DD the go ahead to sign Mookie to an extension just like he didn't give Bloom that either.
  23. or maybe DD has/will do what he did in Boston. Keep the prospects that are really good and trade the ones that are at least over-rated.
