    This thread should be trashed. There is absolutely NO way Bloom is getting fired. He has followed JH's orders PERFECTLY. Cut the payroll down and keep the team "competitive". He has hit on both.

    i don't actually blame Bloom as I think he is just following directions from JH. Remember JH also blew up the Miami Marlins after they won a WS. I appreciate what JH has done up to about 2018 but now it is time for him to sell and sail off on his yacht.

    Moonslav--ok fair enough. If I misread your thoughts I apologize. I feel that the Sox are woefully short in P both at the MLB level and in our farm system. We may have several good prospects at some POSITIONAL positions but nothing close to MLB ready on the bump. I was OK with drafting a C this yr with our 1st rd pick and dont even mind our 2nd and 3rd picks either. However going forward unless another Mayer falls in our lap I would draft all P's in our first 3-4 rounds. we SIMPLY HAVE to add QUALITY P depth to our system. If we need 2B or Of in any given year we can get them on the FA market much cheaper than adding QUALITY P. Why am I the only one who sees this?

    Cora may have been allowed to voice his opinions but would have no real authority in completing any trades. That is on Bloom. Yes he probably runs trade ideas past Cora but at the end of the day BLOOM ALONE is responsible.

    actually Bloom is untouchable to his supporters like yourself. Were you actually ok with the pitching performance today? Were you ok with a team trying to get W/C spot using positional player on the bump??
