Dodgers are paying Ohtani 2 million per year and then 680 million is deferred to the end of his contract. 99% certain Yamamoto will be heading there too.

Make NO MISTAKE about it. The Story signing along with the Devers signing were no more than to place RSN after letting Xander walk for nothing. Had Devers been let go too there WOULD have been a revolt. -
Merrifield is a backup type at this stage of his career but yes he is better than what we have. I dont see any way we get Yamo or even Snell and I don't consider Montgomery as a true ace. Breslow better act quick on Yamo or Snell or they will be gone. Hey why not trade for Alex Manoah too . Tyler On'Neill needs another head case to keep him company.

that is exactly what many said last offseason -
WE are NOT signing Duvall after trading for the great Tyler O'Neill so take him out of the equation here. I expect we will get Stroman and Lugo which will still leave us as a last place team but hey at least we are spending right??

the Red Sox payroll in comparison to the others in MLB has been going down steadily for a few years now. We were once around #3 in payroll and the last I heard we were about #14 now. That is reality. Personally I don't care where we are in terms of payroll but being a last place club 3 of the past 4 years DOES bother me.

why would Kershaw be available? He is year to year at this point but can pitch in 2024 unlike Ohtani.
