i am pretty sure we missed with Yorke and if you think he is going to bring us a young top P prospect in return I have some property to sell you. We drafted him fairly high at least 4 years ago and yet the team is said to be in the market for a 2B this year. so no I won't move on. I'm not saying draft P every year in the 1st rd. but to draft nothing but middle infielders year after year in the 1st round is insane. Sox don't have a real top P prospect anywhere near MLB ready if even at all in the system. And ps--YES we should have taken Graterol instead of "holding out" for the immortal Jeter Downs.

We CAN'T dump Yorke. Everyone was PRAISING MR Bloom for this great draft pick. Everyone but me. If the guy is MLB calibre why are we looking so hard for a 2B? After being drafted 4 years ago in the FIRST round wouldn't he be close to MLB ready by now?

Zzzzzz--hey GM's wake me up when you decide to actually sign REAL MLB players not guys to minor league deals that no-one cares about. Everything being held up by a guy who has never thrown a pitch in MLB. I'd find it hilarious if he didn't sign before his Jan 4th deadline but I realize of course he will sign at the last minute. Merry Christmas everyone.

Not sure how you can say we are pretty even with the Yankees right now. They finished several games ahead of us last year and have added Soto and Verdugo while we have added a juicer and some high end castoff P so far. Also you kNOW the Yankees have at least one more big signing to come. Can anyone say with certainty the Sox do too?

Yamamoto will likely not make his decision till Jan 3 or even the 4th so don't expect much action till then for the Sox

i watched him with the Jays for years. he may have heart but he's a punk and he's not even that good. Not much of an upgrade at this point in my view.

I agree that if the Sox don't get Yamamoto they should save their money. I am fine with trading for a young cost controlled starter but want no part of Stroman. we already have 1 cancer addiction this offseason and we don't need another. Add a Bloom type SP or 2 and go with what we have now.

that is true. Sox need 2 frontline starters to truly contend not just one. I could never understand why they didn't keep Wacha after the year he had where he was arguably our best SP and comes on a reasonable contract. Hey maybe they can bring back Kluber on a cheap deal.

I have long stated that the MLB FA system is terrible. Every other Major League sport FA period goes fast and furious with most of the big signings taking place in the 1st 2 days of FA. It is obvious that neither Montgomery or Snell are going to be signed till after Yamamoto makes his decision.

well they just lost Matt S till at least July. any chance that changes things with Montgomery?

I don'r see that happing as I really don't see Montgomery as a true #1. Don't you find it at least a little strange that the Rangers don't seem interested in resigning him?

Both he and Snell likely to wait until after Yamamoto signs. Likely going to drag into January. watch our great fO trade for a SP with 1 or maybe 2 years of control and give up one of our top 3 prospects in the deal rather than spend in FA. Then when he reaches FA he walks. This will placate RSN for a year though.
