  1. Signing Tucker sounds good, but I don’t see any big, and long FA signings especially in the OF, or a starting pitcher. The Red Sox have 4 OF now, and the Password is waiting in the wings. I’ve said for 3 years now I didn’t see any long term FA pitcher signed, and the trade routes would be the way to go like with Crochet. I don’t know what’s out there again with someone young like Crochet, but that to me would be the way to go even if it hurt some to give up some suspects, or a Duran, or Abreu. I wasn’t advocating trading Duran just for the sake of trading him. I know some of you are you are enamored with his speed, and yes he had 80+ RBI this year, but he also dwarfed back somewhat into the Butterfly Man in the OF. I don’t see the Red Sox signing him long term either. To me a top of the rotation starter is the biggest need, and with another bat if Bregman leaves, and something has to be given up in any trades.
  2. I didn’t see the ND game yesterday, but it looks like the Notre Dame D is really stepping it up.
  3. Bregman opting in , and Mayer at SS with Story at 2B to me would be the best scenario providing Mayer can stay on the field. Imagine to have a FT 2B again. What’s the plan with Casas, and Masa have to be decided too.
  4. I agree the Red Sox were outmanned, and all of that, but that doesn’t change the FACT that a few catchable balls in the OF being caught, and better decisions on the base paths, and the Red Sox still could have won, and that’s be objective too.
  5. Yes plenty of Blame to go around from Cora on down, and all their flaws reared their heads at the wrong time, and the results showed it. They were the Little League Red Sox at various times during the season too.
  6. I agree if Bregman opts in then fine, but I wouldn’t offer him anymore money , or years. If Duran, or Abreu is traded hopefully they are traded for a younger pitcher like Crochet. I don’t see them spending on a big FA pitching contract, and I haven’t for the last three years. If Bregman goes they’ll get another 3B, and Mayer/Story will be the SS/2B combo IMO.
  7. Just like could with the Yankees.
  8. Let’s not get so over dramatic here. If Bregman leaves they’ll get another 3B, and no not Romy. If Duran leaves someone will replace him. You guys make it sound like these guys can’t, and won’t be replaced. They won as many games as they did, because the AL was so weak, and flawed.
  9. You should have been happy after 3 years of not making the postseason to this year getting in, and when you do to be able, and willingly take on all comers. The Red Sox were flawed, and that’s why they didn’t win. Didn’t hit, didn’t make the plays on D when they needed to, or run the bases when they needed to.🙈
  10. I’m not worried about what MM can do on the field it’s staying on the field.
  11. I don’t get into the War stuff except in old movies. I was all for trading Duran last offseason when his stock was highest, but many on here said no. Yes he plays hard, and shows up every game, but his offense can disappear, and he still looks like the butterfly man at times in the OF. I guess I’m just not all that impressed with his stretching singles into doubles, because he runs fast, and mad.
  12. The Romy, and Ref Mans Allstars against LHP didn’t show up that everyone on here raves about either
  13. I don’t put much stock in the teams W-L record with him, and without him. His BA was down, and his K’s were up, but his power numbers were still good. Could he have made a difference against the Yankees? We’ll never know.
  14. RAF Man takes a lot of flak on here, and while his stats aren’t great his glove is worth something, and he had a lot of big hits along the way. He’s not the problem.
  15. You’re welcome. The Yankees were a buzz saw?🙈 You had 2 Flawed teams playing against each other, and the Red Sox had more flaws than the Yankees in the 3 games.🤮
  16. If he stays fine, but i wouldn’t offer him anything more, or longer than what he’s getting now. If he opts out, and someone else offers him more, and for a longer time than say thanks for your help this year, and bye bye.
  17. Agree on the AL being so weak, and that made the AL so wide open to Anyone who got into the postseason. The Red Sox lost out on a golden opportunity.
  18. Like I asked last night how did the Red Sox miss out on that Bob Gibson impersonator who pitched in college just around the corner from Fenway?
  19. Agree. Crochet, and Bregman were good pickups even though Bregman was grossly overpaid. The Red Sox lucked out on Chapman having a career year for someone who wasn’t being counted on as the closer when signed.
  20. The trade deadline pickups just wasn’t quite good enough either.🙈
  21. I can understand not going all in at the deadline, but the Red Sox didn’t even go half way, and once again the AL was more wide open than I can remember.
  22. Every team was flawed, and the AL was wide open for the taking. The Red Sox lost out on a golden opportunity.
  23. Red Sox were not in check. Yankees Win! Yankees Win!
  24. How did the Red Sox let this Yankee pitcher get away when he pitched in college just around the corner from Fenway.
  25. Yes the 13th was still the regular season, but I think as the season wound down, and the innings piled up even though Bello pitched around the same amount last year he started to struggle more. I think plain, and simple Cora didn’t trust Bello last night, and thus the quick hook.
