    I agree it was not a so called overpay for Crochet. People use the so called overpay all the time, because they play with BTV. As I’ve said the last three offseason the Red Sox were not going to sign any high priced long term FA starter, and would have to trade some SUSPECTS to get one, which is what they did. OVERPAY, OVERPAY, OVERPAY.🤭

    The Red Sox have already said Contreras will have minimal times behind the plate, and I don’t think that means anywhere near 50 games. He is here to play mostly 1B, and DH some, and that makes the most sense since they didn’t give much of an effort to sign Alonso. I don’t really care what happens with KC rather in Boston, or somewhere else. If he turns out then great, but if not Meh.

    Well said, and I agree mostly. As I have recanted before I was NEVER a Devers Forevers guy as one, and others were on here, but I don’t see that Raffy did much of anything wrong at all. The FACTS as we know them Cora NEVER asked Raffy to play 1B, and said he wasn’t going to, and that is the key to me in forming my opinion. There are all kinds of guesses why Cora didn’t ask Raffy to play 1B, and mine has been Cora didn’t think Raffy would have been good at it. I still don’t see how it would have made the Red Sox better by putting a lesser hitter at DH.Some continue to rant, and rave about a bad teammate Raffy was, so that must make Cora a bad manager too for not doing it. Brez caused the whole mess to me, and was mostly to blame for how it turned out IMO.

    It’s debatable if the Red Sox have a better rotation than the YANKEES, and I’m not even counting on Cole. Better depth yes.

    I think you’re spot on. He’ll extend the young guys cause it’s cheaper, but only offering Alonso 3 years for someone I believe they wanted is a tell, and goes along with what McAdams reported that an agent old him. I still think years is the sticking point on Bregman. If Donavan comes next that will even be a Bigger tell.

    It’s good to know when next season starts on March 26th it will count in the 2027 standings. Not only would I trade ANTHONY for 1 year of Skubal I’d throw in Mayer, and Duran too. A real BLOCKBUSTER.🙈🤭

    Schwaber’s bat would have helped the lineup, but no position. Alonso’s contract May age poorly, but so may Bregmans, but I still think it’s BREGMAN, or nobody on a long term.

    Plus the Red Sox didn’t even make an offer to Flintstone, and half an offer to Alonso whom the Red Sox were supposedly interested in.

    It doesn’t matter if you predict, suggest, or anything else you want to call it, because as I’ve said before I’m most likely going to respond the same way, which is what I think the Red Sox will ACTUALLY do. That’s a guessing game also, but likely a lot more accurate, and realistic.

    I don’t know about a haul for any of the OF. Abreu has been a platoon, and I think Duran’s value was higher last year at this time.

    I’ve been saying for the past few years that you don’t have to wait until you go so called all in to improve the club, because you are not guaranteed something better will come along that you are willing to afford.

    I don’t really think the RED Sox really want to trade for someone with 5 yrs left on their contract that will take them to 36-37 yrs anymore than they want to sign a FA under the same circumstances, and I think that’s what’s holding up any Bregman signing. McAdams already reported an agent told him the RED SOX didn’t want to sign any long term FA contracts.

    OMG! 2026 is the here, and now, and you don’t give up a year for anything, because you’ll never get it back. 2027 isn’t guaranteed for anything, and I’m not even going to think about 2027 until next offseason. If you’re not going to play to win then don’t play at all, and I’ll say that every time.🙈
