  1. They showed on something I was watching that shifts increased by 50,00 in a ten year period. Now that is radical. I’m sure you could find that stat somewhere, and didn’t they count the sac fly as a time at bat when Ted hit 406? I don’t think an asterisk was put there.
  2. Only half joking. I think Mazz if it happens will be very interesting, and am shocked the Red Sox would try such a thing as much as Mazz has bashed the Sox, and John Henry through the years.
  3. I just think it slows down the game, and 4 hr games are to long.
  4. Like I’ve repeatedly said. I know what I wrote, and I know what I implied. I also know what I wrote, and I know what you think I implied, but I NEVER SAID Moon you said the players were poor, and pitiful, and if I did you would have shown me long ago. I have said I agree with everything you have said about the owners. I just blame the players just as much, and yes I know I’m in the minority, but that has never fazed me before, and it doesn’t now. Don’t try to be a mind reader, because you are not very good at it.
  5. You are right that these changes shouldn’t be thrown in at the end, but from all the different venues I hear, and read I think the majority would like a pitch clock, and an end to the shifts. Why would the hitters not want the shift ended?
  6. Making a statement that players making an average salary of 4+M are not poor, poor players, and I was the one who made the statement, and I’m the ONLY one to know what I meant by that statement, and that was my opinion, and my opinion only. Now on the other hand you read the statement, and think I imply that you feel that way you are the only one to know how you feel, and I’m not going to change your mind, and at this point I don’t care. I never said Moon you think the players are poor, poor, and pitiful, and you can’t show me anywhere I did. You can show me what you think I implied, but that’s it, and nothing else.
  7. Go back to my original poor, poor players statement in response to you worrying about the players keeping up with inflation. It wasn’t implied then that you thought the players were poor, and poor, and it wasn’t my intent that you felt that way since. If I felt that you did I would have no trouble saying it.
  8. I think the game does need a pitch clock, and no defensive shifts, so I don’t see nothing wrong with that only that it hasn’t happened yet.
  9. What a great 3 man booth that would be. Mazz, Shaughnessy, and anyone else. Great idea.
  10. And once again poor, poor, and pitiful is MY words, and how you want to interpret is your problem if you want to make it one. I don’t care either way. I blame both sides, and you don’t. I’m not saying my opinion is right, and you are wrong, but that is my opinion. Either way it doesn’t change a thing. Just because I don’t think the players are poor, poor, and pitiful doesn’t mean you did.
  11. Is Tony Clark the best the players can do??
  12. That’s what I’ve been saying for weeks now. Both sides are greedy, and BOTH sides are at fault, and BOTH sides don’t give a damm about anyone else, but themselves.
  13. The fact that people on here are against Mazz makes it so much better. Once again credit to John Henry. Way to go John!
  14. Once again a day late, and a dollar short, and over analyze 101. I’ve already said that poor, poor, and pitiful we’re my words.
  15. I doubt he will, but he has bashed the Red Sox at times for years, so it will be very interesting to see how much Mazz will tone it down.
  16. I grew up with Gowdy, Ned Martin, and Ken Coleman, and no OB is nothing close to them, or as good as Osillo for that matter. Millar should be better than Burks, or Lenny D, and Wake.
  17. Mazz would be a breath of fresh air compared to some of the hometown yuckers they have on there now. Let’s get this baseball thing settled now. Can’t wait.
  18. Tony Mazz to the Red Sox booth? Way to go John Henry.
  19. Players going out on their own would be a lot more complicated then people think, and also a lot more expensive than people think, because lots, and lots of expenses would have to be paid out, but let’s go, and give it a try. A barnstorming league? No thanks.
  20. I’m all for the players forming their own league, and paying ALL the expenses to see how it all works out. 100% let’s go, and no I don’t think if that happens that the present owners form another league of so called scabs.
  21. Where does it say that I said that you called the players poor, and pitiful? Those are my words, and have said right along that with an average salary of 4+M the players are not poor, poor players, so you are WRONG that I said you did. I also said I agree with everything you said about the owners, and what other people have said about the owners too. Yes the players earn what they make, and the owners make much more, but where would each be without the other? I would be all for the players starting their own league, and paying all the expenses, and see how it goes. I also wouldn’t care if the players played, or not this season, because the greed does need to be checked on both sides. Soto turned down $300M+, because he wants more, and some owner will offer more. Filthy greed on both sides.
  22. They don’t have another offer in mind at the moment, but I’m sure there will be more negotiations, and offers at a later date on both sides. When that will be is anyones guess.
  23. Moon I agree with everything you have said about the owners, and along what others on here have said as well, bit where I differ is on the poor, poor pitiful players, which I don’t believe they are. This isn’t the final final offer, but just the last offer for now.
  24. No! And He’ll no!
  25. The owners already have businesses outside of baseball, so it is not the same thing. I’ve already said the players are the show.
