  1. Like I have said the players are the show, but the owners put on the show.Let the players put on their own show, and see how much money they make.
  2. Man Fred said the fans were at the top of the consideration list, and that is as BS as you can get.
  3. And like I keep saying the players are not poor poor players. Even the lowest salary ones.
  4. I have said repeatedly that I blame BOTH sides, and have no sympathy for either one, and I hope both sides lose money, and fan support in all of this.
  5. They can dig in all they want, but they need the money more than the owners. Blame the owners all you want, but I don’t think it fazes them one bit.
  6. Unfortunately they have that right.
  7. I’ll even agree with that, and like Tony Mass just said the fans should be pissed if no agreement is reached today, and not just pissed, but really pissed, and should ask what’s in it for them? Remember for the most part it’s Millionaires, and Billionaires in it for themselves, and NEITHER side cares about the fans, and when it’s over both sides will open their arms, and the fans will jump back in like nothing has happened.
  8. I saw Ellsbury play his first Sea Dogs game years ago, and he went from prospect to a pretty good ball player, but not all Sea Dogs make it. The Sea Dog Biscuit is the big attraction to me.
  9. Somebody has to instead of all the poor poor pro player talk. I’ve repeatedly said I’m not on either side, and I’m not, but both sides need each other. The players are the show, but they can’t put that show on without the owners. If they could it would be a different story.
  10. Now that’s what I’m talking about.
  11. Gee maybe the players will have to get off season jobs like they used to if they can’t make ends meet.
  12. Say the all the quote not just part of it. I don’t care about prospects until they produce something in a Red Sox uniform, but the Sea Dogs are baseball, and I watch the local colleges too.
  13. Exactly. They all are.
  14. Like I said earlier poor, poor players they are not, and I’d enjoy the SeaDogs just as much as the RS.
  15. With an average salary of 4+M the players are far from poor, poor players.
  16. I’m not with either side, but if you think the player cares about you the fan I don’t think think is close to be true, and they are just as greedy as the owners. If they want more money let them become owners. Greedy, and greedier, and the fan sits back, and takes it all, and pays more, and more.time for the fan to take a stand.
  17. I said it back in 72, and it still holds true today, but how insane was that the powers at be didn’t make sure everyone played the same amount of games.
  18. If that happens then both sides deserve to lose money.
  19. That may be true, but like I keep saying I have NO sympathy for either side. They are both greedy, and the fans allow them to be that way.
  20. Lock both sides in a room till this gets settled.
  21. It still comes down to Millionaires, and Billionaires fighting over a bigger slice of the pie that I could care less if either side gets.
  22. The problem is who would make them do something like this? The owners won’t force that upon themselves.
  23. Unless the bottom payroll teams are made to spend I don’t think it will happen especially if they are like you said running the negotiations for the owners.
  24. It would just be so much easier if there were not only a floor, and a ceiling, and a hard floor, and a ceiling.
  25. JBJ has hit below 250 6 times out of his 9 years in the majors, and 3 of those years were below 200, so it’s not like he was a Silver Slugger candidate before he got traded.
