  1. And like I said I’m not the only one on here who complained about the trade.
  2. There is Nothing wrong about getting excited over prospects, and there is Nothing wrong about not getting excited over prospects.
  3. You guys are worked up about an opinion that doesn’t match yours, and for the record there was more than me who was against the JBJ trade, so I guess they must have been all worked up too.
  4. Nutty? Ah the name calling will start. When I was talking about prospects I was talking mostly about ones who came back in trades, and not ones drafted by the Sox. I understand about sending prospects back in trades aspect.
  5. So this is what you going with? The team went penny pinching on the Starting Rotation, and they are going to take on JBJ’s contract for 2 prospects that might never make it to the big leagues. I didn’t like the trade as it was, and would hated even more for that reason.
  6. No I don’t, and I think it’s the other way around. Just because I said prospects mean nothing to me look how many have gotten riled up about it. You all have your opinion, and I have mine, and I also don’t remember saying any of you are wrong. Of course you all used half my sentence that prospects mean nothing, and jumped from there. I also said they mean nothing unless, or if the prospects become productive in a Red Sox uniform, and then things would change. So far NONE of the prospects in the Mookie, or JBJ trades have done that, and if they do they will mean something. Maybe I should have stirred things up even more, and said this is a head scratcher. That became a hot topic for a time before.
  7. Well until any of the Mookie prospects, or JBJ prospects make a contribution to the Red Sox, or are used as a trade chip for someone I will stick to my opinion, and it won’t be changed by anyone. I think getting the prospects in the JBJ trade was more exited by some on here than getting JBJ back himself.wow a 3 for 1 trade with prospects coming back. Must be a great trade. NOT.
  8. That was a great trade, but I don’t think Wong will be a Tek, and there is no Lowe in the bunch.
  9. I already knew all of this, and I didn’t say prospects was a dirty word, but only that they don’t mean anything to me unless they get to Fenway Park in a Red Sox uniform, and produce, and that is my main point, which is different from everyone else. I remember very well you didn’t like the JBJ trade, and caused a big stir when you scratched your head.
  10. 100% agree, and 9 hours may be under estimated.
  11. There you go with that prospect word again. The way I look at it is Mookie, and Price were traded for Verdugo, and the Sox are paying a good part of Price’s contract, and Renfroe was traded for JBJ. Now if any of these prospects turn out to be something then the situation will change, but until it does, or if it does the prospects outside of filling out a minor league roster are nothing more than that.
  12. There is no doubt Bloom was forced to get rid of Mookie, but I think he could have done a better job with the return he got like some pitching.
  13. But that where I differ from so many on here. I could care less about a prospect until they show up a Fenway in a RedSox uniform, and produce, and so far the prospects the Sox got for Betts, or JBJ have not done that, so if, and until they do in the big scheme of things don’t mean a whole heck of a lot except to say we got prospects.
  14. Getting partly rid of Price was good, but they are still paying a good chunk of the contract. Some people are just so excited about getting prospects back. Verdugo is a good player, but you almost never get back equal value for a super star, and prospects are just that unless they turn into something productive.
  15. Who is worried about Renfroe’s bat? I was all for trading Renfroe, but just not for JBJ, and that contract. If the Sox wanted JBJ so bad then why didn’t they just resign him in the first place? I still say that the Sox would not have offered JBJ the contract he got from the Brewers, and then they took it on anyway. And like I said before about the prospects I could care less, because they might not contribute anything to the Red Sox in the future just like the prospects the Sox got from the Dodgers for Mookie. Quantity does not mean quality.
  16. NO games that are lost, because of the strike/lockout should be made up. Let both sides lose money on this farce, because they both deserve it.
  17. Kike himself has only been a 230 hitter his past 6 seasons, and while he had some real hot stretches last year he only finished a 250 hitter, so take away the real hot stretches that he had last year that he might not do this year, and you don’t have someone as great as what some viewed him on here.
  18. The big question with JBJ is not about his D, but can he hit. I didn’t like the trade to bring back when it happened, and I still don’t like it now. There had to be better options out there, and cheaper ones at that, and maybe even someone who batted RH. I know Kike is Moon’s boy, and nothing wrong with that, but like I said can LBJ hit that will be the big decider.
  19. I’m very well aware that Jeter is not the majority owner, and why wouldn’t he make trades like Stanton to the Yankees. They would be the only team stupid enough to take on that contract.
  20. Well said on everything, but Cora hasn’t said a word about what the plan was for the OF after the big blockbuster trade to bring JBJ back to town. At this point it’s just everybody speculating.
  21. Well said, and like I have said before too is to have both sides switch sides to see what the other side sees. What does Jeter say? He’s been on both sides.
  22. I don’t think the watering down is all about teams not trying to win? It’s not just baseball, but all sports.
  23. You just said yesterday that the product was already watered down, and now you want to add 2 more teams, and 2 more players per team? NO, and he’ll no. How much more watered down do you want to watch, and pay more to do it?
  24. Screw BOTH sides. The only way these idiots would understand is if the fans went on strike, but that would never happen. Weakness personified.
  25. I with you there. As I get older I have less, and less tolerance for either side, and will have even less if there is any disruption in the season, which is looking more, and more like that will happen.
