  1. From all the millions, and millions of Rock’s fans we thank you for the kind words.
  2. Moon all I can say that after all this the Sea Dog Biscuit offer still stands.
  3. Why , because they have different opinions?
  4. And how are they different from forum goers? Fans are fans.
  5. I’ll give you a E for effort, because no matter how many times you analyze something wrong you keep on trying. Even IF I had disdain for prospects there is NOTHING WRONG with that. I singled out Downs not, because of Downs, but because of Bloom’s bad judgement in trading for him. You still can’t explain why you think your opinions are better, and are so constructive, and are not hollow like all the others that disagree with you on other venues. I’d prefer to be called the DISDAINER. I don’t mind one bit being in the minority, but you seem to have a big problem with it. Of course you would have to realize you were first, and you don’t get that staying in this forum cocoon.
  6. What Bush was doing was calling Bloom out for not having reliable arms to do those jobs, and I agree.
  7. The old fall back start the name calling. I don’t think anyone knows at this point how good Whitlock can be, or what he would be best at, but that’s just my opinion.
  8. I was just reporting what other fans are saying about Whitlock, and there are lots of them out there that think he should be the closer.
  9. I fully understand that the farm is part of the future, and I fully understand that pretty much everyone has come from the farm at one point, and time, so all along my point has been that they don’t count until they get in a Red Sox uniform and produce, so that to you is disdain, but it’s funny I don’t hear that anywhere else when I voice that opinion. I guess we hang around different water coolers. I look at the Red Sox minor league box scores every night, and last night I noticed Bloom’s great prospect Jeter Downs was 0-4 with 4 K’s, which I believe Jeter is hovering around 200, and leads the team in K’s. No I don’t have a plan, and I haven’t been asked for one anywhere else. I do listen, and watch many other sports venues, and I like to broaden my horizons, which I guess you don’t, but I know they have many different opinions than yours, and because they do does in no means make it nonconstructive, and hollow criticism. How nice of you to judge other people, and their opinions. I love it when a plan comes together.
  10. I do agree that Bloom is in over his head in Boston 100%.
  11. Listening to the radio this morning, and the first thing being talked about was the Red Sox bullpen, and specifically the back end of the BP. What was said is that Whitlock is just an average starter, and long story short Whitlock should be the closer, and Houck should be the setup man. Bloom, and Cora have done nothing to fix the BP, and here we are 50 games into the season with a losing record. Like I keep saying on this forum that I’m in the vast minority that wants Whitlock to close, but outside this forum the majority that I hear want Whitlock to close. Very interesting don’t you think? Like I keep saying Red Sox Nation is very big, and usually when I hear different venues the story is completely different kind of like Fox, and CNN, but like I keep saying EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion.
  12. Well how are the prospects useful playing in Worcester, or Portland, or the other two. Are their stats counting for the Red Sox, and helping them win games? I don’t know how that’s so hard to understand. Did any of the farm boys hit a HR tonight that helped them beat the Reds? If they did I must have missed it. I don’t have any disdain for prospects they are what they are minor leaguers, but for some reason you think they are more than that. I never said I had a plan, but I do have opinions like everyone else. Not everyone who calls a talk show has a plan, but do make opinions, not every sports writer has a plan, but they all have opinions, and not all people who visit forums like this have a plan, but they all offer opinions. How many armchair QB’s could be a QB, but do offer opinions?
  13. well 12 blown saves means you had the lead 12 times, and lost the game starting opening day when Whitlock was put in to get a 4 inning save. 12 losses is 12 losses, which I repeat they did have a lead.
  14. Then how did 8 losses come after the Sox were ahead, or tied in the 8th, and 9th inning? If the Red Sox had the best closer in the league I believe they wouldn’t be leading the league in blown saves, and have 8 more wins. Once again Cora, and Bloom are to blame for this at the moment a losing team.
  15. I don’t believe I said the closer is the only guy in the bullpen that counts, or on the entire team. The closer does count the most in the 9th inning with a 1 run lead, but you have to get to that point first. Both bullpens played a big role in the game tonight with the Red Sox keeping it to a 2 run game, and the Reds protecting a run, and 2 run lead some the Red Sox pen has had a hard time doing, and thus leading the league in blown saves.
  16. Looks like Story Land is closed again.
  17. It would if the stats helped your opinion.
  18. So leading the league in blown saves, and never trying Whitlock as the closer, or even Houck for that matter to you wouldn’t have made a huge impact? You don’t think either one is any good. I do, and I think Whitlock would have made a huge impact, and I blame Cora, and Bloom for that not happening.
  19. You should finish the sentence in so many words when you try to repeat what I say. Prospects are useless until they produce in a Red Sox uniform, or traded for someone who does. Sound familiar? Little bit different then how you tried to explain it.
  20. I don’t think Whitlock started all those games, but Whitlock’s replacement in the rotation seems to be the standard answer.
  21. How many games did Whitlock start in the blown saves in the 8th, and 9th inning games?
  22. You always want your questions answered when all I’m doing is offering an opinion just like everyone else. How is keeping Bogey, and Raffy trading away the farm? When did I say that I would trade away the farm for anyone? I don’t get that DD traded away the farm either away from here, and that is why I like to go to many different sources, and not just here. A first I heard only on here too that Bloom got Story to replace Schwarber. Interesting take. I’ve made it very clear that I don’t trust Bloom to put a good Red Sox team on the field especially if they loose all the guys on the last year of contracts, and Raffy, and I’m far from being alone especially away from here. What works for the Tampa fan base won’t work in Boston. I’m very well aware who has the checkbook, but Bloom, and Cora are not without blame.
  23. Making Whitlock the closer on opening day was the plan, and I believe 100% if that would have happened the Red Sox would have a better record right now. I never would have paid Mookie for two reasons, which has been gone over many times that he didn’t want to stay, and I don’t think anyone is worth that kind of money for that length of time. I’m just saying that how hard it is to replace that kind of talent?
  24. Now it’s a bullpen game, and the BP will decide who wins, and who loses.
