  1. That to me that would have been the least likely possibility. Like Tony Mas just said just another example of over managing, because of the metrics of baseball, and I don’t think it’s any more, or any less than that.
  2. Might as well call Arroyo a starter with all the days off the Sox have been giving the players 18 games into the season. Seems like Story gets a day off every series.
  3. I’ll repeat again I would have left him in. We saw the results of taking him out, but we’ll never know what would have happened by leaving him in.
  4. Nobody said the top of the order was coming up, but just that the Sox did not want Evol to face them again. I was watching the Celtics at the time, so I just took it for granted that the top of the order was coming up that next inning, so my bad.
  5. You’re right the top of the order was not coming up, but that was the reasoning they gave on NESN. What’s the worst thing that could have happened by leaving him in outside of loading the bases, and given up a slammy? I would have left him in.
  6. It was shocking to you when you are one of the big metrics guys? It’s always shocking to me, because I don’t give a damm about metrics, but the answer was the Sox didn’t want Evol to face the top of the order again, which everyone should have pretty much known the answer, because that how the game is played today. Maybe starting pitchers shouldn’t be paid as much anymore, since they can’t do things like this anymore.
  7. That’s the analytics for you. Sometimes the only paper it’s good on is in the bathroom.
  8. Kike leadoff, and Dugy batting 2nd. Story out of the lineup again.
  9. It may still be very early, but as we found out last year EVERY game counts, and they count in the standings just as much now as they do in September.
  10. You can’t expect the bullpen to go 5+ innings every game, and be effective for to long a time. The bullpen also will have to drop 2 pitchers after next week, which will make the wear, and tear even more.
  11. This team has been pretty much listless since opening day, and there is plenty of blame to go around, and that starts with Bloom, and Cora.
  12. Houck playing Mop Up Man today?
  13. I’d go with him over streakman.
  14. It was the Great Escape last night, but next time things might turn out so well. Do you trust Streakman as the closer? Do you trust Barnes? I know the overwhelming opinion is for Whitlock to start, but I have said since the beginning of the season that if Barnes can’t close than Whitlock should. To me using Whitlock 3-4 times a week is better than 2. I know the Rotation needs help too, but that’s just my opinion.
  15. That’s what he gets the big bucks for.
  16. I hope this team can hit tonight better than it looks on paper. A DH 0-10, and a 5th place hitter hitting 157. WOW!
  17. It’s way to early to tell about Story, but all on here who just expect him to fill Bogey’s shoes could be in for some sort of disappointment. He may have more range at SS, but to do all the other physical things Bogey does not to mention the intangibles may not happen.
  18. Next years team is going to be a telltale sign. With all the players on the last year of their contracts next years team should look nothing like this years teams, and how Bloom goes about putting that team together, and what happens with Raffy should be interesting.
  19. Sleepless in Seattle. Listless in Boston.
  20. He had 2 bloop hits earlier.
  21. Story Land is closed. Hope it opens soon.
  22. 157 BA is more than just tonight.
  23. We’ll find out pretty soon how many of those guys there are, and who.
  24. The Incredible Sulk.
  25. The only point was that Covid was probably going to run through the team again like last year. Not being vaxed stops you playing in Toronto, but doesn’t necessarily stop you from getting Covid. That was my point.
