  1. Have we sunk to the level that we have to play lesser teams now to compete?
  2. Why would playing less games against the AL East be a good thing? Because it’s easier? I like playing the Yankees 19 times along with the rest of the Div, and now Baltimore has improved, so to me makes things more interesting. I’m not looking to make things easier. I don’t care where the Red Sox would be in another div. If you can’t beat the good teams you aren’t a good team yourself like this year.
  3. As is lots of things on here.
  4. Jensen has gone down hill as the season as worn on, and it’s not like the Dodgers have a lockdown closer either, so I know they are hard to find.
  5. Lots of the so called experts I heard before the season thought that ND was ranked to high. New coach, new QB, uncertain at RB. I think the schedule is going to be a lot tougher than you think, and time will tell on that.
  6. What I meant by L column was the only way you can make up the 5 is if Cleveland were to lose 5, and you won 5. In this case the Red Sox have played 3 more games, but if it was the other way around, and Boston had 3 more games to play, and won all3 they would still be out 5 in the L column. I didn’t mean 5 games couldn’t be made up.
  7. Now the Kut Man scratched from his start today.
  8. So you think that translates into something good next year. Take out the bad bad west who might not be as bad next year like Seattle who is a lot better now than when the Sox played them, and that 48-32 doesn’t look so good. The Red Sox should be a vastly different looking team next year, and could be better, which I’m not so sure that Bloom can put Humpty Dumpty back together again, or they could be even worse, so that 48-32 is pretty much irrelevant into what happens next year.
  9. It has been a total snakebite, but I think it would be foolish to go into next season without an established closer to anchor the BP. I don’t believe that person is on the current roster either. I don’t think Houck is good, or consistent enough, and you can’t count on Schreiber to come back next year, and pitch like this year. Whitlock has been jerked around this year, but while he has been good for the most part he hasn’t been as lockdown as last year. Getting a established closer, and using the others in a SETUP role to me would be the best way to go.
  10. That’s being pretty optimistic. I’m not impressed with the QB, and wasn’t last year, or the Oline. I’ve been following ND for over 60 years, and this is far from one of their better teams.
  11. The L column is the most important tell when reading standings to me. You can’t make up a loss. I don’t think being in the top half of the league is any kind of accomplishment especially when the Red Sox have a losing record.
  12. Well another win, but the only thing the Red Sox are getting closer to is 500. 2 games from 500 7 games back of the winning O’s in the L column to get out of last place 9 games back in the L column for the last Wild Card spot. The biggest question left with plenty of Div games to go is if the Red Sox can get to 500, or not.18-36 in the Div pretty much says it all.
  13. When is Stanton coming back? Yes I know he’s been playing.
  14. Bobby D is going to Worcester.
  15. Wrong again! He got knocked around in two innings against Minnesota. Analytics, and eye test confirmed. 4 hits, and 3 runs in 2 innings. Shouldn’t have been so quick to say I gotcha.
  16. Max is a little backwards sometimes. He sees things that aren’t there, and doesn’t see things that are there. It’s a gift, and a curse.
  17. Hanging tuff early, but not much of a offense. Long season for a first year coach with a tough schedule. Kelly got out just in time.
  18. Wow Whitlock pitched 1 excellent inning, but gave up 2 HR in his other inning. That’s a bad outing to me.
  19. Nothing wrong with starting Bello, but the set up man Whitlock has sucked his last two times out. Barnes has also tried to give two games away trying to close lately.
  20. Whitlock, and Barnes tried to give the game away.
  21. I was talking at the time about getting MAJOR LEAGUE talent back, and not prospects., so NO I wasn’t talking about getting a HOF back in a trade. Pedro was not exactly on his way to the HOF until he pitched for the Red Sox, so no just get Major League players back in trades.
  22. Well the Sox have won a few, but aren’t moving up anywhere, but are getting closer too 500. 3 games from 500 7 games in the L column from last place in the Div. 9 games in the L column from last Wild Card spot.
  23. Like last night?
  24. Agree on the OF, but I don’t see Cora sitting JD, and Arroyo’s bat has to stay in the lineup somewhere.
  25. Pham has hit well, but Dugo needs to go back to LF next year. As long as Mookie stays healthy Mookie will stay great.
