Cora gave Arroyo plenty of shots before last night’s game, and Arroyo had pretty much sucked, and that is why some on here wanted him DFA’d, so I don’t think Cora giving Arroyo a shot last night had any real significance outside of Arroyo having a good game for once.

Bottom line Houck has 5 saves, and no blown saves, but has been shaky at best. What happens when he comes in with a 1 run lead? Schreiber has been their best pitcher out of the pen. Cora said the plan right now is to activate Whitlock on Mon, but hasn’t said what the plan is for his use.

I’ll agree that Downs playing 3B is bizzare, but it’s not like Cora hasn’t done what you call bizzare moves before.

It’s bizarre that Downs was even called up, because it certainly wasn’t earned. Fitzy, or Sanchez would have been better call ups.

The lineup I saw had Bogey at SS, and Downs at 3B. Vaz at C, and Bobby D at 1B.

Aren’t you the one who diagnosed Bogey before the season started saying he would be playing under much mental strain playing alongside Story, because Bogey knows Story is a better SS than he is. How has that diagnosis panned out? Not only has Bogey played a better SS this year I would say hitting in the 330’s is a pretty good year outside of having more RBI. Now when I called Kike a utility player, which some on here took it to an extreme, and thought it was something bad, and even mentioning the word shmuck is just way over the top, and only on here would you see such things. I call Kike a utility player for all the different positions he plays, and nothing to do with how many games he played. He played I believe all defensive positions for the Dodgers except catcher, so even if Kike had played all 162 games I would still call him a utility player if he was a 5th IF/ 4TH OF, and played all the different positions. One year Kike played 140 games, but had less than 300 AB I didn’t know JD Drew, and Ellsbury played different positions like Kike does so I don’t see how comparing them made much sense to me. Some just like to see something bad even if there isn’t anything bad to see, and this was a classic example. I saw lots of Kike trade talk on a game thread, but that is something I wouldn’t do unless things fall apart from where the team is now. Duran hasn’t established enough for me yet in his small sample size to justify trading Kike, who may turn out useful yet again.

Even though Houck plays on a team his first priority is family, and himself. No doubt it would be better for the Sox if Houck could go to Toronto, but he can’t, and that’s the way it is.

Long ways to go before the ALCS, and who knows if Houck will still be the closer by then, or how about Sale not being able to pitch either. I wouldn’t think some teammates would be to happy if it comes down to this.
