  1. Bloom did, and Brez has followed in his footsteps.🙈
  2. In other words. Throttle Up!
  3. It just seems to me that the Red Sox have wasted millions of dollars the past five years on pitches that did even throw 1 inning in a given season. Some they knew wouldn’t, and some they didn’t know.
  4. 2021-2022 was a long time ago, and I noticed you left out 2023-2024. It still a waste of $18M to me.
  5. For all the talk of the budget that happens on here, and how much the Red Sox have to spend Sandoval was a Big Waste of $18M to me.
  6. Which past stats led the Red Sox to sign this guy in the first place injured, or not injured?🤔
  7. It just amazes me on the fixation that everyone has on numbering starting pitches in the first place, and then spend countless hours debating what each number means like in the big scheme of things it means anything. There are many different ways to measure how good a starting pitcher is stat wise, but how they rank 1-5 isn’t one of them. The most important thing that can happen when a starter pitches is if the team wins the game, or not even if his stats, are good, or bad for that game. I asked this question last year if on game day you sit, and analyze if you have a #2 pitcher going against a #4 pitcher, or a #3 pitcher going against a #5 pitcher, and so on, and so on? You can pretty much tell if one pitcher is better, or worse than another pitcher with out them being assigned any number to them.🤔🤭
  8. What a sham College football is. I don’t get how a coach under contract from one school can be contacted from another school, and then hire that coach away when the present season isn’t even over yet. A college has to honor a contract to a coach, and to me it should have to work both ways.
  9. It could, but I didn’t know that Bregman, and Alonso were being touted as the second best pitches.🤭
  10. I don’t hate the trade at all, but I’m just that not excited that Gray will produce anymore results than what Gio did, which isn’t bad, but just not an improvement. You can throw out all the stats they have available, and Gray may be the second best pitcher on paper, but until he produces on the field everything else is useless.
  11. I buy the whole playing in Boston thing 100%. Some thrive playing in the Boston experience, and some do not.
  12. Even though it was 7-8 years ago Gray was a Big flop in his two years with the Yankees. Last year Gray got rocked in his only start against the Yankees, and could face them 3-4 times next year. Gray could also pitch half his games at Fenway where he hasn’t fared very well in his seven games (6)starts that only consist of 26+ innings, and his career ERA pitching in Fenway is the worst except 1 other park. Gray may be an upgrade over Gio, but then again he might not winding up being so. At this point he is nothing to get excited about for me. Time will tell.
  13. I wonder if JH feels the same way seeing he shelled out $60M for Gio, and Buehler who didn’t pitch 2 full seasons for the Red Sox?🤔
  14. I agree, and that contract put extra pressure on KC IMO.
  15. The Red Sox did not handle Campbell very well last season, and except for a flourish in April he was in pretty much a lost season. I know the big thing with Cora, and the Red Sox is versatility, but not every player can do that, and after all the maneuvers with Campbell last season he’s a player with a contract, but not a position.
  16. Let’s just hope he can escape the bad injury Juju that has enveloped Fenway the past 5 years, or so something that Sale, or Gio couldn’t do.
  17. The Red Sox are going to make a big move at the deadline?🤭🤫
  18. I guess I’m just tired of the 1-2 years rentals.
  19. The money chipped in is the best part of the deal, but I’m still not counting on much more from Gray than what Gio gave the Red Sox though even after all the stats that have been thrown out there.
  20. The only thing matters is what he’ll do this year. He’ll pitch maybe half his games at Fenway with a not so stellar D most likely behind him, and he’ll also have to face the Yankees 3-4 times this year with whom he got rocked against in his only start last year. He’ll also be a year older. Until I see it I’m not counting on Gray to put up any better numbers than what Gio did last year. ST. Louis wanted to get rid of him so bad they chipped in $20M to do it.
  21. 7 yrs is a long time especially for a pitcher.
  22. How will Sonny handle pitching in Boston? Pitching in Fenway with a not so great D behind him? Pitching in the AL east specifically against the Yankees?
  23. Nothing to back it up, but speculation that with Devers in those 89 games with Roman in a bunch of those games that the Red Sox would have scored more runs than they scored without Devers. I would also add that with Raffy’s past history against the Yankees that he might not only have made a difference, but the difference in the postseason. Roman shouldn’t have been a replacement for Devers, but an addition to Devers IMO.
  24. I would say 2021 was the outlier, and not 2025. 22-24 was a struggle to get to 500, which they finally did in 24, but 22-23 was losing last place in the division teams.🤮
