100% disagree. I’ve been saying for some time now that the Bogey, and Raffy situations have to be know first before you can move forward, and see how much money is spent, and how much is left to spend. Also both situations should have not only been know by now, but known long ago. Then again maybe both were with the lowballed offers, before last season started.

Everyone has budgetary constraints, but no one knows for sure what they are was my point. Either way it’s no excuse for a losing last place in the Div team. Just like now no one knows for sure how much Bloom has to spend on next years team. I don’t even try to guess.

Nobody on here. To me I expect a competitive winning team EVERY year, and anything short of a postseason berth is a failure. Like Sam Kennedy said at the year end presser this year we all failed meaning himself, Cora, and Bloom, and he was a 100% right.

I’m just saying to me that it is a BIG waste of talent to do a rebuild with Bogey, and Raffy, or even just Raffy himself. Future HOF talent at that. Call it what you want.

I agree, and the Red Sox haven’t been rebuilding for some time. You don’t do a rebuild with the likes of Raffy, Bogey, and at present Story, and the past JD, and Mookie. If you have been rebuilding, or are going to that’s just a BIG waste of some pretty good talent.

You are right that these are Nothing moves, but some just don’t realize, and think that even nothing moves get analyzed, dissected, and analyzed again.

I guess it depends what you call bouncing back. He did up his Ave by 40, and his OPS by 80, but his Gold Glove kind of D was never going to make up for Renfroe’s production especially his 96 RBI. Bad move to begin with, and a bad deal at the end.

If you can’t stand the heat of the Big Bad Boston Media, and parts of Red Sox Nation then you probably shouldn’t have come to Boston in the first place. Tampa is Disney World compared to Boston.

Wasn’t a lot of them throwing errors? At any rate don’t the Red Sox have to get someone to play RF now, and pay them, and JBJ who isn’t on the team? More costly, and not much sense to me.

It has always been amazing to me that a player like Renfroe coming off a 96 RBI season that so many thought he was not worth a $7M contract in arbitration. While he was no gold glover he was no butcher out there either. The placement JBJ while a gold glove could not hit a lick, and Bloom traded Renfroe for him at a higher salary to boot. A real head scratcher as some would say. To me I was all for trading Renfroe, but not for JBJ, and now I would say that a little 2 yr $18M-$20M contract for Renfroe would have made the Red Sox better off, and made more sense.

The Phillies gave DD a 3 year contract extension that will take him through 2027. Good move for DD, and the Phillies.

If it turns out as expected, and the Red Sox are to cheap to pay Bogey I don’t think they will spend even more money to sign Correa.

Well said. Whitlock, and Bello have shown promise, but nothing else, and Sale, and Pax have shown they can pitch in the past, but in recent years not so much, and recently not a healthy body between them.

I don’t expect Bogey, and Bloom will be breaking bread over Thanksgiving either like Theo, and Schill did.

Let’s go get Bellinger to play CF, and then bring Renfroe back to play RF, and Dugy can go back to LF. Sounds like a plan to me, and the Red Sox love reclamation projects.

Bloom to JH But Mr. Henry you made me trade our best player, and I tried to get a big haul back for him, but it just didn’t work out as good as I thought. I thought Jeter was another Jeter, and this one just can’t hit AAA pitching for 2 years now, and Mr. Wong may just not be any better than a low level back up catcher. Mr. Henry you never gave me a very big allowance, and I have to do most of my shopping at lawn sales, and bargain basements. It’s also not my fault Mr.Henry that the team has been a losing-last place team two of my 3 years on the job, but we’ve been rebuilding, and hanging off a cliff, but don’t worry Mr. Henry I haven’t told our future HOF homegrown superstars Mookie, Raffy, and Bogey that’s what was going on, because I didn’t want them to think we were wasting away some of their prime years while that was going on. Also Mr. Henry I know you are mad that I went over that bad tax line this year, and we didn’t quite make the post season this year, and also didn’t get us to a winning record either, but whoa wis me Mr. Henry, and give me one more chance, and I’ll try, and do better, so you will like me, and those bad, bad media like Mr. Shaugnessy won’t be on me all the time, and say all those bad things about me. It wasn’t like that back in Tampa where everyone was nice to me. To be continued.

As we have discussed many times over too the lowball contract offers to Lester, and Bogey they didn’t warrant a counter offer, and, because the offers were so low Red Sox management were to blame, and were blamed rightly so.

The point was that having Bogey, Raffy, and Mookie in the primes of their careers, and add in JD who was still productive to being any part of a rebuild, or on any kind of a cliff would have just a big waste to me. You are only in your prime for so long a time, and you have to make hay while the sun still continues to shine.

If Bogey, Raffy, or JD, and co. Only thought they were only on a cliff any of these past few years they probably would have jumped.
