I’ve never heard of the term Relief Ace, so I guess I missed it to. This Whitlock discussion has been beat to death too since opening day for me. I think to go into a season like the Red Sox did this year without a reliable closer was just bad baseball management. Now Max will tell you the Sox had two experienced closers in Robles, and Barnes. Robles really? Wasn’t Barnes so good he was left on the postseason roster in 2021? The Red Sox lost games early this season, because they couldn’t protect some of the few leads they did have. Atlanta won it all last year, and had a decent backend of the BP yet still went out, and got a closer it Jensen. The Red Sox did nothing, and I don’t see the Red Sox going out, and getting one for next year. I think the sample size is bigger enough to see that Whitlock is better than good in the BP, and I trust him more than Houck, so to me the backend of the BP is where Whitlock should stay, and I think if Cora had control on that subject he would say the same.

It’s amazing you come out with this phony baloney I guess what have you done for me lately concerning your Boy Toy Kike, but you don’t apply it to JD, or Bogey who have both done more in the past than Kike could ever dream about for the Red Sox whom you have been dissing. As always over analyzing. A good utility man is a bad ball player? Wow! He’s never had a regular position, and had played many, so you can call it what you want. Sounding off, because he actually had some hits last night, which doesn’t make up for him sucking all year with the bat, or doesn’t make up for him coming up small in big situations the previous two night. A career 240 hitter is no superstar. You rate Kike how you want to, and I’ll rate him how I want to. This has already been discussed on other threads, so there is no need to do it again. I’m not changing my mind, and your not changing yours. If saying Kike is a good utility ball player isn’t good enough for you then to bad that’s how I SEE it.

Kike was overrated by his hot streak in the postseason last year, and no I’m not judging him just on last year as you know I have referred to him on previous post as a good utility man, so to say 1 year is not true just like you said I didn’t like fWAR, or any of the others. I have said I don’t need it, and don’t care about it.

But that was last year, and the EYE TEST says he sucked this year, and that’s all I need.

I still say his rabbit ears are up, and he doesn’t like all the bad publicity the team, and Bloom are getting, and to some extent him.
