  1. Not the Kimbrel who ended in Boston, and LA, but the younger version yes.
  2. Nobody said anything about just needing a closer. Whitlock, and Houck to me should also be in the backend, and you can add Schreiber. Getting a closer, and one more good arm would be a good start.
  3. That’s all wishing, and hoping that someone will take the job, and run with it, and just isn’t sound strategy to me.
  4. I understand your first point like the Red Sox in 2013, but I just think any team is better off with a good, lock down, reliable closer.
  5. You counting on next year working out like 2007, or 2013? Seems like a big risk to me. I don’t think Koji will pop up.
  6. More like a plan B when you don’t have a reliable lockdown closer, which I believe the Red Sox have needed since last offseason.
  7. Doesn’t sound like a Winning formula to me.
  8. Liverpool has been put up for sale by JH. Should have a little more spending money if it goes through.
  9. Understood, but except for the Clemson game home field hasn’t been any advantage this year. Still need a good QB.
  10. 8-4 wouldn’t deserve much else. Even tougher schedule next year adding Tenn to go with Clemson, and Ohio St. Kelly picked a good time to leave.
  11. They still have So. Cal, which would move them up some more providing they get by Navy, and BC, but the Trojans will be tough to beat out there.
  12. Diaz has agreed with Mets for $102M/5 yrs.
  13. 260 yds rushing by ND, and Clemson couldn’t do a thing about it.
  14. Good win for ND, but they are not going anywhere untill they get a good QB, which they don’t have.
  15. Peña as it has turned out was a pretty good 3rd round pick in 2018 from the U Of Maine.
  16. Of course they have had people that make it work, and the jury is still out on Bloom to be able to do that.Three hundred loss seasons in a row in the early teens, and hitting on #1 picks were a big help.
  17. The Red Sox had 20 wins in June, and 10 of those wins came against Oak, Calf, and Seattle. Oakland sucked, Calf was going through something like a 15 game losing streak, and Seattle was a below a 500 ball club at that time, so I guess it depends how you want to analyze this.
  18. The Astros wanted Vaz even though it was just for a backup, which I believe is true, but I’m not sure there was anybody who really wanted JD, or Evol. As much as I have criticized Bloom I don’t believe he would held on to the two of them if he could have gotten a little something for them even though I keep saying he seemed confused looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road at the trade deadline.
  19. So what you are saying is that Bloom messed up?
  20. Agree 100%. Seems like this subject has beaten to death many times. I was never for the fire sale before the season ever started, or at the trade deadline when Bloom made his famous looking for that 3rd option at the fork in the road. Like I’ve said many times you don’t give up on a season when you are still mathematically still in it, and I think a majority of fans feel that way. If it doesn’t work it doesn’t work, and then you go from there to try, and fix things. I’m not going to worry if poor JH has to pay a little tax. He’ll just pass it on to the fans anyway.
  21. Maybe Russ Nixon.
  22. No matter how many times they win will not vindicate their image for a long time especially with Altuve, and others who cheated are still on the team.
  23. No players being suspended wasn’t even a slap on the wrist.
  24. I don’t think anyone would be keeping his seat warm, and would only be added if there is a big need. I wouldn’t keep Sale’s seat warm either, because you can’t count on him no matter how much the Red Sox owe him either. Let him pitch out of the BP.
  25. Hill talked about coming back mid season for next year at the end of this past season, or not coming back at all, and I agree that Hill should be nothing planned on, but if the situation was to arise, and needed then then that could be looked into at that time. Just having Sale around is a injury waiting to happen.
