With that type of body it will be hard to keep in shape especially going into his 30’s, so I’ll put a wait, and see on the toast. Riley got 10/212, so I think 8/$225M would be more than fair. Is Raffy better than Riley?

I know, but I already said in a previous post that I messed up, and said Bogey instead of Raffy. I can’t believe that was missed me saying I messed up. # 416.

I did answer this in a previous post. 8/$225M. I don’t want any 10-12 yr contracts, which I have answered too. Agree, or disagree, but that’s my thought.

What’s leading the league in anything in 2021 got to do with now. Was he as good last year when he wasn’t hurt, and now he two years older than 2021.

I don’t think any player is worth $300M, and I don’t like 10 yr+ contracts, but that’s just me. If they could get Bogey for say 8 years/$225M, or something close I’d be fine with it. To me the Red Sox should have worked harder last off season, and if a deal could not have been worked out then the Red Sox should have traded him with two years of control left. It wouldn’t have looked good to trade him, but it’s not going to look good now either, and even worse if he just walks after this year.

I wouldn’t rather have Devers at all for $300M. I don’t think he’s a $300M player.

I understand about the AAV, but to me a 10 yr contract is bad, and a 12, or 14 is even worse.

I got your point, but why do you think signing Correa for more money would appease the fans over signing Bogey, which was my point? I don’t believe it would.

I believe 12/year contracts are bad for anybody. I’m surprised you don’t want to give Raffy 14 yrs like you wanted to Mookie.

I named a closer last year with either Jansen, or Bard. Diaz is gone now, and the Red Sox have already weakened the BP for this year at the moment by putting Whitlock back in the rotation, and they haven’t committed to Houck anywhere either. Who said anything about adding a closer, and keeping Bogey, and Raffy as being it. Once again NOBODY. I was commenting on one of your 100’s of scenarios about adding Correa over Bogey, and bring back pretty much the same cast of characters, so you were the one, and not me. I think most people know about all the holes that have to be filled.

I don’t think signing Correa over Bogey for more money would make the anxious fans happy enough to wait for 2024. 2023 is the only thing that matter right now to some. Signing Correa, and bringing Raffy, and trotting out basically the same team I can’t see being any better off. If you are not sure what placates anxious fans by now you will never know. I’ll take a big shot at the dark on this, and I’ll say a winning competitive team that plays in the postseason Unlike this last year that was a losing last place in the Div team.
