  1. For starters even though Casas, and Bello shows lots of promises neither one has established anything yet. Now if you are talking about trading them this past year to get into the postseason it would have to be for at least two pretty good players that would be for more than a 1 yr rental. The future is now is the main thing, but then you have to do a little bit deeper dig . Just like I talk about BA which I look at first, but then go into it deeper from there, so I’m not as bad as you think.
  2. Traded for who? Aren’t those two DD guys?
  3. I knew what you meant.
  4. Be in the WAS? I have no idea if we would be in a WAS right now, but I would venture to say we wouldn’t have been a losing last place team last year. Bloom is a failure, and I hope his time is running out to prove otherwise. BTW I hope he does prove otherwise, but I don’t think it is going to happen.
  5. There is conflicting reports out there, so I’m not encouraged at all until I see a signature on the dotted line.
  6. Like Kennedy said at the year end press conference we all failed this year meaning himself, Cora, and Bloom. We’ve been over this hundreds of times already that to some fans they only care what’s happening here, and now, and that here, and now is a losing team with a last place in the Div finish. That’s a failure, and Bloom is a failure, and all the excuse making, and Pom Pom waving is not going to change that. DD was fired 10 months after winning a WS, so by that criteria Bloom who hasn’t won a thing, and has 2 last place finishes to his resume should be out the door. To me this was a bad hire by JH if he wants to having a winning big league ball club. Building up the farm I agree with, but is not the most important thing.
  7. No! The future is NOW.
  8. Not paying Bradley $12M in the first place like Milwaukee did was the smart move. Trading for Bradley after was the not so smart move. Must have been that 160 BA that caught Bloom’s eye.
  9. The biggest disparity between DD, and Bloom is that DD has a long resume of building winning baseball teams, and Bloom does not.
  10. Bloom’s competence, or not.
  11. Are you comparing Pittsburg, and the Pirates to Red Sox Nation, and the Red Sox?
  12. Really that’s where you want to go. Comparing the 2019 team with the 2022 team. If the 2019 team played the same teams with the same talent as the 2022 team I’m pretty sure they would have finished with a lot better record, and wouldn’t have been a losing team with a lost place in the Div finish. Not even close to a good comparison.
  13. It is true that DD, and Bloom do things a different way, and it is also true that DD has gotten better results.
  14. That’s a way to look at it, but to me WL record is the most important, and that’s how I choose to look at it. I get it that you are part of the Bloom cheering squad with the old Bloom, Bloom he’s our man, and if he can’t do it no one can, but as Lee Corso would say Not So Fast! Poor poor Bloom to be under what you call circumstances that he is under. It sounds like to me he’s not up to the job.
  15. Pure speculation on your part, but what isn’t speculation is that Bloom has not brought the Red Sox to the WS.
  16. WL record is a narrow view? Wow! WL record is what gets you to where you want to go, which is making it into the postseason unlike this year that it got you into the basement of the Div. WL record in the now to me is most important. Not what may happen two years from now. I think we’ve been down this road many times before, and I don’t believe anyone has changed their mine yet, or WL.
  17. It would be a much smaller number to say who wasn’t injured, or who actually produced this year would it not? That was a big big factor this year for the lack of success.
  18. I do agree mostly, but if none the prospects you mentioned hadn’t gotten traded how many do you think would have made it with the Red Sox, and still been here? Speaking of prospects how did the Red Sox let Houston’s starting SS get out of their backyard from the U OF Maine?
  19. You are right again. All pure speculation on your part.
  20. They have survived quite well, but I don’t believe the Red Sox could do the same if Betts, Bogey, and Raffy are let go.
  21. DD did make some blunders himself, but I agree, and Henry compounded things by hiring Bloom.
  22. Some do.
  23. Since when does anything on here stick to the subject that was started, and people don’t go off in all different directions, and expand many times over?
  24. That may be true, but Margot probably would not have gotten all the chances to play that he got in San Diego at least for a few years anyway.
  25. Both would help, but neither are any kind of difference maker.
