  1. And they haven’t paid Soto yet providing he wants to stay.
  2. Getting rid of someone who has 96 RBI, and trading for someone who can’t even hit his weight, and paying more to boot is not a winning proposition any time, but Bloom did It anyway, and it worked so well Bloom released him during the season. The Bloom come off the vine on that one.
  3. The Red Sox need someone who can field a winning, competitive team EVERY single year, and ANY year like last year is totally unacceptable. DD accomplished that in his 4 years, which Bloom can’t match in his 4 years. Cashman over Bloom anytime.
  4. If that happens let me know, and I’ll tell you if he is impact, or not. Is Abreu a impact player? The Red Sox were $20M under the Astros.
  5. The 1 yr contract ext they offered Bogey last year was the real slap in the face, and this is when this all should have been all worked out if the Red Sox were really serious. I wonder if Bloom made the offer with a straight face. My guess is yes.
  6. Cashman got a 4yr ext with the Yankees. What are Bloom’s chances he gets the same in Boston?
  7. Turner to Phillies somewhere around 11/$300M! Go DD!
  8. But Bloom is in charge now, and DD didn’t have any losing last place in the Div finishes on his resume, and plus he has a ring to show for his tenure. Bloom has a wring around the tub.
  9. No the Rangers aren’t ready, but the Red Sox aren’t the Rangers, and the Rangers have a owner who doesn’t care what he spends, and I think Henry now does plus those were longer term deals, and Verlander’s was a short deal for a good team better than the Red Sox.
  10. I do remember, and that pales in comparison to the Sale extension. Theo made some blunders too.
  11. I believe that’s the best this Yalie can do. The Beni trade was another that could have been better.
  12. You only make a deal like that if you are ready to go for it all, and the Red Sox are a long ways away from that. Getting out of last place in the Div will be hard enough.
  13. Agree, and always has been. I still say DD could have done better, but we will never know.
  14. Could he have hit 200 in AAA?
  15. I don’t want Swanson either, and like I keep saying the Red Sox are not going to outbid any teams for any impact player.
  16. Downs who can’t hit 200 in two years in AAA, and Wong nothing more than a backup at best we’re nothing more than instant potatoes, and not close to a russet.
  17. If you want to stay last place in the Div yes!
  18. Ok I know how lying works, but I just don’t buy into it. If it all is one big lie, and I believe it is then the Red Sox are playing fans for fools, and I don’t know what would be worse believing the fans would buy it, or the fans that actually did.
  19. It’s only being lied to if you buy into it. I think the Red Sox showed their true intentions with Bogey with their offer last offseason, so for myself I haven’t bought into any of the lip service from Sam Kennedy, or Bloom this time around. It’s like the old actions speak louder than words.
  20. Raffy wasn’t exactly pounding the ball the last few months either.
  21. It still amazes me that who gets into the playoffs are still decided by polls, and guys sitting in cigar smoke filled rooms. Also the fact that not everyone plays the same amount of games which hurts some teams, and helps others.
  22. According to Peter Abraham the Red Sox have not made a competitive offer to Bogey, and Bogey is meeting in person with other teams. If the report is true would that surprise anyone?
  23. Casas, Mayer, and Bello aren’t going anywhere, and signing free agent relievers (who), and then trading Houck, and Schreiber I don’t believe will happen either. So far Martin has replaced Whitlock, so the BP is pretty much where we left it, which is still needing a closer, and more good arms.
  24. Inexpensive option? You would have to give up something pretty good to get him, and then if you got him you would have to lock him up long term, so in the end it would be costly.
  25. Agree, and I don’t think Bloom is even considering trading Casas, Mayer, or Bello at this point.
