  1. I’m more concerned if Kike is going to hit then where he plays. He’s a backup SS playing it FT.
  2. Did not panic after Sale’s first time out, and not excited about his performance today facing the banjo hitting lineup. Be good to get a win though.
  3. Kike has never played more than 24 games in a season at SS, so not much of a book on him.
  4. We complain about not adding players, but it could be worse. The Red Sox just played 2 teams with good young talent, but ownership won’t spend much money to improve.
  5. I’m not panicking yet, but getting the broom by Pittsburg at home was not a good look, and not the start the Red Sox needed, or wanted. They already were booed on opening day, and a bad road trip that they have coming up especially doing bad against TB will not be pretty when they come home. A for Sale day tomorrow, and it better be better than an open house.
  6. The hitting definitely did tail off for some, and never got started for others. Yoshida, Casas, Arroyo, and Kike, so take your pick.
  7. I don’t think the Story signing was a planned thing in the beginning, and just an afterthought when he was still available. I don’t think other clubs were beating down any doors with big offers for Story, and there was some talk out there that Story really didn’t want to come to Boston, and fired his agent shortly after the deal.
  8. An interesting fact that Yoshida had 9 hits in the WBC. 8 of the hits came on pitchers under 90 MPH, and his other hit came on a pitch at 91. Cora wanted to make Yoshida feel more comfortable, so he batted him further down the order instead of leadoff. I’m glad that’s worked out good so far.
  9. Unless there was something wrong with Kluber physically today then Cora used up the BP when it wasn’t needed, and could have used the rest. Kluber could of had another inning in him if not two.
  10. The fans down in RF told you all you need to know. FOUL.
  11. Not surprised at all. I guess Cora figured the BP hadn’t got enough work in yet.
  12. Kluber was cruising along, and only 67 pitches in. No need to go to the pen at that point who have been used a lot already. Schreiber threw lots of pitches too for 1 inn, and Ort is following suit.
  13. This is looking more, and more like the circus from last year.
  14. Opening day for the Sea Dogs in Portland tomorrow where Whitlock will pitch his second opening day of the season.
  15. ST was just a sign of things to come. That’s pretty OBVIOUS.
  16. What is Downs, and Wong?
  17. Right now Casas has to step up. A lot is riding on him, and his hype, and if he doesn’t pan out it will be a serious blow to what has been counted on for a few years now. Maybe it’s been too cold to do his sun bathing ritual, and it’s messed him up. Hopefully that’s all it is.
  18. Ben wasn’t looking for that third option in the fork in the road.
  19. It might have been right to have had the fire sale, but to you really trust Bloom to have gotten something back that would make a difference?
  20. I was one who wanted the Red Sox to win as many games as they could last year even though making the playoffs seemed murky at best. I wanted them to resign Bogey, and I haven’t gotten over how they went about, but I’ve gotten over that he’s gone. Some wanted a fire sale, but I just didn’t see getting back a bunch of average suspects would make the Red Sox any better in the future.
  21. I’m not panicking yet, and it’s only 5 games into the season. I never wanted Bloom here in the first place, but i don’t want this team to be worse than the 2022 team either.
  22. Jet streamed!2-11 with 6K’s. What if those were Duvall’s stats? Would we go with he’s been on base every game. It’s only been 4 games, so there is plenty of time for Casas to get rolling.
  23. By that standard pace would be 300K’s.
  24. I think that what others speculated that Bogey’s fate in Boston was sealed when Story was signed, and the Red Sox saying they wanted Xander was just lip service.
  25. Taking Ball, and Groome with a #1, which didn’t work out hasn’t helped the fact that the Red Sox are, and have been pretty thin in good starting pitching from the farm.
