  1. What ever you want to call it still wasn’t good for a guy 29, who has played lots of baseball. I’ll repeat something I’ve reported before that Yoshida had 9 hits in the WBC, and 8 of them were on pitches under 90 MPH, and the other hit was on a pitch at 91 MPH. He may adjust to faster pitches, and he may not. For $100M he’d better
  2. Noshida has been playing baseball for a long time, and is 29 years old, so not a good comparison. The pitching he’s facing is better than in Japan.
  3. Might as well just draw the lineup out of a hat at this point.
  4. The way the Sox are going right now I don’t think it matters who bats where. Like I said Kike gets an xtra AB tonight, and a chance to suck even more, which he did.
  5. Kike was sucking batting 9th, and now Cora has moved him up to leadoff, so he can possibly get 1 more AB, and suck even more.
  6. A lot of the Red Sox hitters wasn’t hitting before they got to Tampa, so it’s not just Tampa’s pitching.
  7. I’m not agreeing with anything. Tampa wins with Bloom, and wins without Bloom, so I don’t think Bloom built anything. He was just one of many Nerds in the room, and maybe the Red Sox picked the wrong nerd. Now he’s out in front of the room in Boston, and it has shown. He big league club has suffered.
  8. Noshida must have payed a lot of ping pong in Japan.
  9. Tampa hasn’t missed a beat since Bloom left, and the Red Sox big league club, which matters the most has gotten worse since Bloom arrived it town. Not a coincidence to me.
  10. I agree with the first two parts, but I can’t answer the last part. It just seems like Bloom just adds players, and it’s up to Cora to make them fit. Even Schwarber was a good example of that.
  11. Who’s going to play SS? I would rather just go to a platoon in CF right now with the Ref Man, and Tapia if they are just going to stay with what they got.
  12. So why do you want him in CF, or anywhere else? The good old eye test says it’s actually worse than just saying he hasn’t hit.
  13. When is the last time the Red Sox had this many stopgap players to start the season?
  14. But Kike can’t hit,and hasn’t hit much for two years now.
  15. Bloom did build the team in the offseason just not to sure the build will hold up.
  16. I don’t answer those questions, because I don’t get paid to do so, and once again I’m not doing Bloom’s job for him. For good, or WORSE that’s what he gets paid the big bucks for. They definitely need someone to field SS adequately, but what I don’t get is why everyone says the answer to CF is to move Kike there. I’m not just out on seeing Kike at SS, but I’m out on seeing him playing at all. He’s 3-31, so how much worse can he get He can’t hit so far this year, and he couldn’t hit last year, and yes that was before he got hurt too. Yes he plays a good CF, but JBJ could too, and the Red Sox are still sending him paychecks. I questioned if the Red Sox could have done better with $10M when they resigned Kike, and I was told by more than one poster on here no. People are fixated on Kike’s hot streak in the 2021 postseason, but hasn’t done much with the bat since. I know Kike is not this bad with the bat, but at the moment he stinks to high heaven, and to me is no part to any solution.
  17. Bottom line is I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for Bloom to do something to help the club. If he does something to help the club that would be great, but I’m not counting on it. What you see Chang, Tapia, Ref Man, Bobby D, and Kike may be all you get.
  18. I would want to know what it would take to sign Reynolds first.
  19. The Kut Man has been optioned to Worcester.
  20. It’s only 10 games into the season, but with Duvall going down it’s apparent to me the Red Sox need help. The question is if Bloom is going to do anything this this year, or sit on his hands like he did last year for a couple of months. Any combination of Yang, Tapia, The Ref Man, Bobby D, Duran, and KIKE i don’t see cutting it to be somewhat productive. Things wasn’t good up the middle to begin with, but at least Duvall was mashing.
  21. Good, or bad Pivetta shows up every 5th day. Last night was the good Pivetta. Still not sold on Sale, but at least he’s healthy. Tampa should be a good test. Offense not firing on all cylinders, and with Duvall out most have got to pick it up. Turner has little , or no production, Casas for the most part has looked more suspect than prospect. Yoshida has more walks, and getting on by errors than hits, and needs to hit less ping pong balls to the IF. Nothing from Arroyo’s bat, and Wong his not going to give you much either. Kike has pretty much sucked all the way around, and his bat has for two years now. Ten games in, and I’m still not panicking, but these next few weeks present a tougher schedule.
  22. Casas, and Yoshida aren’t doing much with the bat themselves.
  23. Yea, but he’s cheaper than JD , which was basically a swap.
  24. His BA now starts with a big fat goose egg. Forget about him leading off, because he shouldn’t even be in the lineup.
  25. You can’t expect the BP to come in every night, and pitch at least 4 innings, and stay fresh. The BP will be worn out by Memorial Day.
