    Yes I’m all excited about the anticipated prospect that the Red Sox are going to outbid the Yankees, and the Mets for the Yam Man, and then on top of that add Monty too.🙈

    According to Rosenthal the. Yankees, and Dodgers have made a trade, which hasn’t been announced yet to clear roster space for the Dodgers to add Ohtani, and Kelly. Great for the Yankees to help the Dodgers out.

    Who knows what Red Sox OWNERSHIP wants, or if they even know themselves. Most likely Breslow wouldn’t even be here in the first place if all the potential candidates hadn’t turned down even the chance to interview. On a day when the Yankees are meeting with the Yam Man JH, and Co. are talking about the PGA tour. What a look all the way around.

    I don’t think a few posters on talksox showing their displeasure about not getting Ohtani adds up to the sky is falling in Red Sox Nation. Way over exaggerated, and it’s not like how goes talksox how goes the Nation. TalkSox isn’t even a blip on the radar screen in any kind of picture especially like a BIG picture that make up Red Sox Nation. Omg, omg.

    I don’t think Red Sox saw it as a bad $140M signing, and cheaper than it would be to resign Bogey. The 1 yr extension offer to Bogey pretty much said that.

    Why wouldn’t the fans be more restless this winter than the last three? Do you think it has something to do with the last two seasons not only being losing seasons, but last in the Div finishes?🙈

    Agree 100%, and that neither the Story Land, or Raffy signings have anything to do, or a sign of which way JH will go when it comes to opening his checkbook. It was even said at the time that the late signing of Story was to appease the fans. Raffy was also the last man standing out of the Mookie, and Bogey gang.

    The Dever’s extension as you said had to be done, so I don’t think that is any example going forward that JH will go back to spending. You keep on saying that it doesn’t mean if JH sells the team that the buyer will spend more on the team, and nobody does, but I’m willing to take that chance that he does. It would be pretty foolish to spend all that money to buy the team in the first place, and not put money back into the team, so not just foolish, but down right stupid. Not wishing JH selling the team to me would be careful what you wish for.

    The problem is is not only has Yam Man’s price tag has gone up, but so has Snell’s, and Monty, and who doesn’t get the Yam Man will be after Snell, and Monty too.

    Agree the Red Sox aren’t a low payroll team, but it’s just that others have gone on a big spending spree, and it makes the Red Sox look like they are a low payroll team. $700M for the Big O $667M total payroll for the Oakland A’s the last ten years.

    Henry’s days of being one of the big spenders has been over since Mookie was traded. Yes Raffy was signed, but he was the last man standing, and a revolt would have happened in RSN if he hadn’t. Big spenders are now into MLB, and JH has been passed by by those willing to not only go to the top like over the top. $280M for Bogey is a good example of that, and i wouldn’t pay that either, or anything close to that. The Red Sox are lucky they got Raffy when they did, because I think that price would have been higher this year if Raffy had tested the FA waters.

    Nobody said anything thing about anything collapsing, because some will pay no matter what the price. The problem is how many of the bottom dwellers in payroll could you put together to make up the Dodgers payroll? Most likely the Dodgers aren’t done yet either.

    It will if a few teams keeps the price going higher, and higher, which is most likely. It wouldn’t surprise if the $200M-$300M is now $300M-$400M.

    It was a dumb plan, because how many of those teams that are serious bidders are the Red Sox going to outbid? Like someone said earlier the only way the Yam Man would end up in Boston is, because he really wanted to play there, but Boston isn’t going to be the highest bidder like they were with Yoshida, which made him pick Boston. Money most always wins out.

    Load em up. I hope the Dodgers sign the Yam Man, and might as well get Soto next year too. Get a super team that only money can buy.

    Spending money didn’t help the Mets last year, or the Padres for that matter, but unfortunately you have a handful of owners now that are going to outspend everyone else, and JH isn’t one of them anymore. He used to be the the money game has changed big time just in the last 5 years.

    JD hit 33 HR, and drove in 103 RBI. Is the Big O going to make the Dodgers that much better? Especially $70M better?

    Just a ridiculous bad contract that not only is bad for baseball, but bad for sports as well. Great for the player, but a greedy owner makes future contracts go up for everyone else, and ticket prices as well. Hell the Red Sox fans pay high ticket prices last place, or not.🙈

    The Dodgers won 100 games last year without Ohtani, but it didn’t help come PS, and it might not next year either.

    Just a ridiculous contract. I don’t care if he hits, and can still pitch that wouldn’t mean to me that he gets twice the money. Now for the next ridiculous contract wait on how much the Yam Man will get. No thanks!
