  1. We hope NY will regret signing Judge, but it’s something that had to be done just like it should have been something the Red Sox should have done with Mookie. Judge isn’t the problem the Yankees have sucked this year outside of his toe injury, but what’s around him. I don’t think the Yankees are in for any big rebuild. Stanton would have been the bad signing to me. Enjoy the Yankees misery while you can.
  2. Either way it was a small market team move, and not something that should have come from a big market team. Especially the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees ponied up for Judge, which hasn’t made a difference this year, but imagine the uproar in NY if that wouldn’t have happened.
  3. As expected Masa is in the lineup tonight batting cleanup, which I don’t get batting ahead of Duvall, and Casas. The LR thing is overrated sometimes.
  4. It’s not like Mookie is getting all $365M in 12 years either. There is a lot of deferred money in all of this. I believe his base salary this year is $20M
  5. Calm your jets, and your insinuations, because I gave that info yesterday on the 8-26 game thread.
  6. I also read another report that said Betts had no regrets turning down the 10/yr $300M offer. This is what I mean there is so many things out there.
  7. I read a report yesterday that said Bloom was never told he had to trade Mookie to get under the tax line, but he went ahead, and did it anyway.
  8. Agree, and I just don’t get, or remember ND having this much trouble getting a good QB. I don’t think Book was expected to take over, and play as much as he did either, and he did quite well.
  9. Agree, and it’s key that he stays healthy, because there is not much behind him. ND has had trouble recruiting a good QB lately, and have had to go outside 2 out of the last 3 years.
  10. True, but like you said he’s had pretty much the last 2 days off. I do expect him to be back in the lineup tonight though. If not that would be a real bad sign.
  11. Agree, and the Ref Man can be the third OF against LHP.
  12. Easy tune up for the Golden Domers.
  13. Right now it’s come down to either he plays, or Abreu plays.
  14. Devers X-rays came back negative, which is good news, and Cora is hoping he can play tomorrow.
  15. Sean McDonough said it best after Mookie homered. A trade that can never he defended, and a stain that can nerve be erased.
  16. Agree, and 17 runs for Houston today, so they are coming in with some hot bats.
  17. I actually watched the game today to see Mooke. One reason I remember not watching anymore was the constant yucking from the Yuckers in the NESN both with the likes of Youck, and Wake. Minor league operation. On the other hand a future HOF put on a show.
  18. Like I keep saying none of us know the whole story, or the true story. I read an article today by Kevin Skiver of the Sporting News who said multiple reports said Bloom was never told that Mookie had to be traded to keep under the tax line, but Bloom did it anyway, so who to believe, or not to believe. Also Mike Axsia back in 2020 said that Mookie said he had no regrets turning down the 10/yr $300M offer from the Red Sox.
  19. If JH is there today after Mookie crossed HP he should have looked up, and waved to him.
  20. Let’s see how Abreu finishes out the season before he gets penciled in for next year. Duran will be back some time too, so I don’t know how much playing time either will get. I don’t know if Dugy will get you a big return with only 1 year of control.
  21. Not until he had to come back to Boston, and step in that batters box for the first time. He wanted to make sure the reception was more positive.
  22. If the thoughts are that Abreu has to continue to play then someone has to sit, and to me that would come down to Masa, or Casas. Take your pick.
  23. Raffy scratched from Original line today with sore wrist. Will get X-rays today.
  24. Here it is 4 years later, and I don’t think we’re any closer to the truth between Mookie’s side, and DD, and Bloom’s side.
  25. I don’t think anyone has said that Mookie had anything to do with the trade to the Dodgers, and I haven’t either. That was the result of the failed negotiations. I don’t blame Mookie either for taking the most amount of money he could get for someone else. I get it that you don’t want to blame Mookie for anything, and everything on the Red Sox, but until I get some concrete evidence either way I’m blaming both.
