You still don’t get it at all. Spoiled? How does not liking finishing in last place 3 out of the last 4 years being spoiled? I’ll answer it for you it isn’t. Red Sox fans don’t expect a WS title every year, but they do expect a winning, competitive team every year. You still don’t get it either it’s what have you done for me lately, and the future is now. Just, because the Red Sox have won 4 WS under JH tenure does not give him a free pass for ANY last place finishes, nor does it give him a free pass to trade away a popular future HOF in the prime of his career. Like it, or not JH is not a popular owner, and it won’t change until the Red Sox become respectable again, and win more than they lose, and get into the postseason, and not some organization that HOBO candidates one after another turn down the Red Sox for even a interview. The fan base has all sorts of reasons to be angry, and not all of them by a long shot has seen all the heartbreaks of the many years before JH owned the team, so none of that matters to them. The fans are always something to you from crybabies, and spoiled to many others. You just don’t get it, but hey maybe the Red Sox will be winners again in 2027.

2020 was tainted l but I’d take our 4 championship years, and the rest would be the Dodgers years.

I heard a poll today, which was what team would you want to be the last 10 years.the Dodgers with 1 WS title, or the Red Sox with 2 WS titles, but all those last place finishes. You guessed it the the Dodgers won, because they were more competitive for those 10 years every year. Not what you would have picked I know.

Gray at 34 had never been paid more than $10M/yr, and now he’s worth $25M/yr? Is he that much better, or is he now just available, and there is a need?

You’re on the assumption we sign 2-3 SP, and I do not. I’ve been saying right along that trades are going to have to be made to get the pitching. Gray was overpaid at $25M, and Monty, and Snell will be too. Not, because they are so good, but, because they are available, and there are a big need out there for many teams, and some of hem are big spenders. Making trades may be the best option, and yes that ,ay come down to trading one, or two of those precious top prospects.

The amount of money has gone up big time just the past few years. Would Bogey have gotten $280M even 5 years ago? There are more big spenders now than ever before, and I don’t think JH wants to play that game with them, so what JH has done before in no way is a sign of what he will do today. The game has changed, and i don’t think JH has changed with it.

He won’t have the pressure in NY as he had in Boston, but he’ll be on a contract year, so it would be to his benefit if he wants to get paid better down the road. I think he’ll want to show up the Red Sox too.

Putting off moves to make the team better now makes NO SENSE whatsoever. If the team doesn’t get better now it won’t matter come deadline time.

We have no other option, but to wait to see how things shake out, but it would be nice if more was done than what’s been done already. Things should start to pick up after the Yam Man signs.

Trade deadline? Next winter? Maybe later? Wow, Wow, Wow! After two losing last place in the Div finishers, and you don’t get that what’s most important is now, and making the team better is now??? The team has to be made better now, and it doesn’t matter how it’s done, and that includes trading prospects, and yes even top prospects if that’s what it will take.

I’m not counting at all on the Red Sox getting The Yam Man. The Rays always manage to come up with enough pitching. The Jays missed out on Ohtani, so they must have plenty of unspent money to do other things. The O’s are young, and what a waste if they don’t do much adding.

There is NO MOVE more important than getting some SP. like they said on the MLB network if the Red Sox don’t improve the SP now the rest of the Div, which is already ahead of them will just run away from them even more. The future is now, and the biggest need is now.

The Betts deal will be relitigated long after Betts is done playing.They still talk about the Babe, and Mookie is the next best thing.

I know you are hung up on the $4M, but I don’t think it had anything to do with a Dugy being traded. I believe Cora had a big hand in the trade as well, and it was just to get him out of town.

Dugy was one of the best players the Red Sox had the first part of the season last year, but went into the tank the second half. He’ll be on a contract year, and I expect him to have a good year next year, but either way the Red Sox, or the Yankees would not resign him. He’s more than a glorified platoon player that one has called him on here.

I don’t think the main reason of getting rid of Dugy was a trade itself, but to just get rid of him, and the return was secondary.

The Red Sox are not going to outbid the Yankees, or the Mets as is, but JH should just go full throttle, and let the next owner of the Red Sox worry about the results.

I think Dugy will come back to haunt the Red Sox in those Pinstripes.

The Yam Man’s price tag has certainly gone up thanks to Ohtani, and now we wait , and see how much. Then Snell, and Monty’s price tag will go up, because whomever ever lo#es out on the Yam Man will most likely shift their attention to them. What a year to be a FA starting pitcher.
