  1. I think Monty is way overrated, and is only being mentioned so much is, because he is a FA. He’s been on 3 teams the last two years, and his career stats are not all that great either. A 10 game winner last year is his only double digit winning season.
  2. Do they still only pitch once a week in Japan like Dice K did? He only pitched in 24 games this past year, and 170 inn.
  3. Get the Yankees, and Mets bidding against each other, and anything goes.
  4. If the Red Sox aren’t willing to pony up $250M-$300M with the posting fee then don’t bother at all. The rest sounds like a plan.
  5. Some people see ghost, but Mondesi was never seen. The Legend of Mondesi.
  6. I’m sure Cora would have wanted both Bogey, and Mookie on the team. Cora only played his favorite binky at SS, because Story got injured, and it seemed like the best option at the time with what Cora had to work with.
  7. To bad he got the worst SS who couldn’t hit instead.
  8. I don’t think Cora liked what Bloom gave him to work with in some of his roster builds.
  9. Yea you’re probably right when Cora had his meeting at the end of the year with JH, and Tom when they told him as he said he was safe to come back as manager next year, and he told them he was not ready to move in to the FO that Cora said he would only come back next year only under one condition, and that was only if his good buddy Bloom was coming back too.🙈🤭🤫.
  10. I don’t have a dollar amount, but I just don’t see the Red Sox spending upwards of $300M for Yam, or even a lot more than that for Soto, or O. Snell, Monty, or Nola would definitely be an improvement, but i wouldn’t necessarily call them big if only, because they are FA.Monty, and Snell turn 31 next month, and Nola is 30. 6 years through their mid 30’s could be more expensive, because of the number of teams needing pitching. I would rather see some trades for some younger pitching myself whatever is out there even if it takes some prospects.
  11. I’m not say there will not be moves, but just not of the Soto, Big O, or Yam types. To much competition, which will lead to to much money would have to be spent.
  12. I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, but I’m not expecting any big signings. I don’t believe there will be any trade for Soto, or signing The Big O, or the big Yam either. Montgomery would be a good addition, but i wouldn’t call that a big signing, or signing an ace. He’s bounced around quite a bit the past few years, so the Yankees, or the Cardinals didn’t keep him either. Hope I’m shocked, but I’m not counting on it.
  13. The projected posting fee is $35.625M for a $225M contract.
  14. Well said, but I think for completely different reasons.
  15. Posting for the Big Yam will be on Monday, and negotiations will start on Tuesday. Do you think Brez will shut things down as quick as Bloom did with Yoshida?
  16. At any rate i don’t believe any guidelines, or anything else included 3 last place finishes in 4 years.
  17. You’re right about about that. All I care about is that it took 4 years, and a nudge from Cora to right a wrong in hiring Bloom in the first place.🤮
  18. Yes Kimbrel wore down at the end, but the point being DD traded for Kimbrel to shore up the BP, which he did do for the most part. 100 saves in 3 years, and 42 in 2018 did shore the BP up.
  19. Did I miss something? Did Bloom not get fired? Now if you mean if he had gotten demoted like Ben did I would have said the circumstances, and the outcome would have been the same.
  20. Sensitive might be to strong a word on here.
  21. Exactly. NG in Florida did the same thing just recently.
  22. He shored up the BP in Boston though.
  23. I suppose that JH getting Boo’d all the time must be to strong of a reaction too.🙈
  24. It makes some feel better about JH to say Ben was just demoted, and then walked out on his own. Same results. Poor JH that volatility is to strong a word.
