  1. I’d be paying someone to win games myself.
  2. You can tell him whatever you want, but it’s still not going to change anything. Obviously he looks at things differently than you just like I do, and still going on about it a day later has not done any good, or changed anyone’s mind either. Sean’s been around a long time, and is really knowledgeable, and I’ll take his opinion over yours, but I won’t say you don’t know what you are talking about. Sean might though.
  3. The biggest difference with me in the in the Monty discussion is that I fully understand why you guys feel differently from me on how we rank Monty. You guys look at stats differently than I do, and what stats that are more important to me might not be important to you, and vice versa. We obviously don’t agree, but at least I understand why. I don’t say someone doesn’t know what they are talking about, because someone says something different from me, or that it’s ridiculous if someone else’s rankings do not match mine, but you guys do, and it doesn’t change anything. Monty could be ranked anywhere between 1-5, and it’s not going to affect how he pitches one way, or the other.
  4. You make it sound like it’s only my opinion. Just like you not agreeing with one of the FA rankings today, and you said it was ridiculous just because it didn’t match what you think it should be. Just another example of a long list of someone not agreeing.
  5. You are just coming to that conclusion?
  6. Imagine someone not agreeing with someone on here, and of course it’s the other person that’s wrong. I’ll take Sean McAdam’s opinion on this. I know you can’t be trying to convince me you’re right, so it must be everyone is trying to convince yourselves, because it’s been nonstop since i mentioned Monty, W-L record, and journeyman in the same post. Like I always say there are all kinds of rankings, and opinions out there on everything, and I like to hear them all. I guess some just don’t. Oh well to each its own. Either way it doesn’t change anything in the big scheme of things.
  7. I got what McAdams was talking about between being a 2, or a 3. He’s a tweener.Not goood enough to be a 2, but better than being a 3.
  8. Jen is great!
  9. The Red Sox finally named Bailey as pitching coach. Gee that didn’t take long at all. Still need a 3B coach?
  10. It’s kind of like the farm rankings in that there are all kinds of differing opinions, and rankings out there.
  11. I was all for signing ERod two years ago, but i wouldn’t do a five year deal now.
  12. MLB listed Monty #8 in FA 1 slot behind Sonny Gray, where CBS listed him #9 even behind ERod, and said Monty is a no thrills mid-rotation starter. I guess you don’t like those two rankings.
  13. You can call him a #1 if you’d like, but does that really change anything?
  14. I might have worded that wrong. Not worse than his W-L, but what his W-L says, and more in line with my journeyman opinion. I didn’t actually think it would be that close, and I didn’t think that my opinion would be the majority either. Of course these aren’t all Red Sox fans either. A few Yankees, and O’s fans are mixed in.
  15. I think we had already agreed on this.
  16. Just got back from the club, and took a little Monty poll while I was there. 12-8 in favor of Monty being better than his W-L record shows. Also heard Sean McAdam on the radio who said he views him as a backend #2, or a front end #3. All kinds of different views out there.
  17. What’s good to you obviously isn’t good to me, and of course there is just no disagreement on this. I have said his stats are good except his W-L, which I just put more stock in than all of you, and I don’t value him as high either. There is nothing wrong with either view, but there always has to be on here.
  18. See! It’s tit for tat, and I know you are, but what am I, which responds to criticism, and no content. It works both ways. Once again an objective third party would see that. The gang at the local PF love it all.
  19. Once again we’ve gone over this 100 times. You are trying to make it sound like I stopped watching BB as much, because the Red Sox were winning, which is 100% not true, and I have witnesses that can verify. On the other hand you JUMPED SHIP on the Red Sox in 2022 the fair weather fan that you are not the super fan you claim to be.
  20. So because Monty looked good at the end of the regular season, and into the postseason that makes him all of a sudden look better than he did before? Evol did the same thing in 2018 postseason, and got him that 4yr contract.
  21. Your predictions like 87 wins, and all your BTV suggested trades, which NEVER happen does nothing for me either, which means you are not even as good as a blind squirrel. That’s the facts Jack, and it’s as simple as that.
  22. The goal post didn’t move I mentioned frontline starter when I referenced the article on CBS.
  23. I just don’t do an eye test on highlights. I mentioned watching highlights one time, and you and other took it from there. I also agree that the eye test doesn’t tell you everything, but it told me enough the last two years to show what a clown show the Red Sox were at times, and why they were a losing last place in the Div team. The eye test also showed me that the Red Sox was far away from an 87 win team that some thought watching the same things as I did. Poopoo the ideas of others? Just get 1 thing right. BTV does nothing for me. I don’t need it. It’s as simple as that.
