  1. I never thought at any moment that the Red Sox were as good as their record was last year even when they were beating up on Toronto, and the Yankees, but it sure fooled many on here. I know you, and another keeps sticking to the theory for some reason that I stopped watching the Red Sox, because they were winning that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever accept to the two of you. It was pure coincidence, and NOTHING else, but wild speculation.
  2. I could accept 78-84 back in the early 1960’s, but not no more. I watched the least amount of Red Sox games last year since I had gotten NESN, which was many, many years ago, because of the product on the field, and having to listen to the Yuckers in the booth trying to describe it. It could be even less this year. I’ll probably go to more games in Portland, but the Red Sox will just be further back on the back burner.
  3. Smart yes, but also very inexperienced to deal with someone like JH.
  4. Pap is there too with TC, so who knows what he’ll say.
  5. Not to answer questions from the fans, but TC will probably ask a couple of soft ones.
  6. Unless they have a scheduling conflict.
  7. Red Sox Winter Weekend is finally here, and I’m sure Alex, Sam, Tom, and Bres will tell you everything you want to hear. I wonder if Tom will lead the crowd in the Let’s Go Red Sox chant.
  8. One on here could understand if the plan for the Red Sox wasn’t to be good until 2035. Why bother to sign Raffy?
  9. As I’ve been saying right along if you’re not playing to win then why play at all. To just throw years away for the hope that some hyped prospects will take the team to the top sometime down the road is just unacceptable to me as a fan. Right now all I care about is 2024, and I could give a flying f—- about 2025, or beyond.
  10. Why does it have to be exclusively 2024 wins?
  11. Cora, Cora, Cora! My first baptism to fire on here was early on when I said I would not have rehired Cora, because of what I felt was his over the top participation in the cheating scandal. I also said I wouldn’t have ever rehired any coach, or manager even if it was Red with the Celtics, the Hoodie with the Pats, or any coach at ND. I was called a HATER for saying that. I like Cora, but I think he is way overrated as a manager, and rides on the coattails of winning the WS in his first year of 2018. The not so great John Farrell won in his first year too. In 2019 the Red Sox wasn’t as good, and Cora even admitted he didn’t have the starting rotation ready to go. I heard someone say yesterday on here that the Red Sox would be worse off without Cora. Meaning they’d have a worse losing record, or last in the whole league. The Red Sox have won a WS with a loaded team in 2018, and have come in last place in the Div in 2022, and 2023 with a not so good lineup, and pitching staff all with Cora. I don’t think he makes that much of a difference either way in the long run.
  12. Tom has been thinking what to say ever since he made the throttle comment. How nice of him to finally come out, and clarify things, or try to clarify things just before Winter Weekend. All the fans can rest better now.
  13. Agree, and as the Red Sox have found out the past 2 years you need closer to 10 SP than 5 to get you through the season too.
  14. Substitute Lester for Price in 2018, and there is no way to tell on that ring.
  15. Right now I don’t see Houck in the rotation. The last I heard Whit, Houck, and Wink would be fighting for the 5th spot behind Bello, Gio, Pivetta, Wink, and the Kut Man.
  16. That may have been, but he wouldn’t have been probably thought of if they had not lowballed Lester, and signed him for half the price.
  17. That’s why I don’t label pitches at all. To me you have starters, and you have guys in the BP, but i will concede a closer. You know which pitchers are better than other ones without labeling them 1-5. You know the Red Sox do not have a good starting staff.
  18. The Red Sox meeting with the Yam Man was all fluff, and for PR purposes. What the Rangers did in FA was help them get a WS, and they got good PR as the result. What the Red Sox did, and what the Rangers did was two entirely different things.
  19. Price was a bad signing. The Red Sox could have had Lester for half the price.
  20. I wonder if they’ve approached Cora about an extension, or not. It’s been pretty quiet on the subject.
  21. I think they’ve now used up their 9 lives.
  22. Yea, I know it sounds that way, but I just think they misread on how high contracts would go, which I think lots of so called experts did.
  23. They’ll keep raising as long as fans continue to keep paying.
