  1. Like I said before FA even started. There is a big need for starting pitching, and pitchers will get paid not, because they are all that good, but because they are available. I mentioned when Gray got signed he had never been paid more than $10M before, and now he’s getting $25M. Not, because he is better at 34, but, because three is a need, and he available.
  2. Like I keep saying the poor guy is just unlucky, and in the wrong place at the wrong time except for the end of last year to win more than 10 games. Maybe one of these years before his career is over he may get lucky to win more games.
  3. It’s a matter of an opinion on what is an example that supports anything, or explanations either. I’m also not disagreeing anything, so there wouldn’t be a counter argument. You on the other hand are making all the arguments that doesn’t change a thing. A 20 game winner, or a 10 game winner all means something. It depends on how deep you want to dig into it.
  4. That’s, because I’m a talksox hater, basher, and DISDAINER.
  5. You are doing the same thing, and have kept this going for 2 days now. The big difference is I’m not saying your opinion is wrong where you on the other hand are telling me I’m wrong. My opinion is what it is, and I don’t give a s*** rather you like it, or not. What matters to me is all I care about, and not what matters to you, or anyone else. You on the other hand can’t say that, and think you have to critique everything, and everyone. I’ve said before that to me BTV is a useless little toy, but I don’t comment on it every time it is referenced. Like I’ve said many times if I mention certain things all kinds of bells, and whistles goes off, and it’s not just talked about, but downed every time. It hasn’t, and won’t ever change a thing.
  6. I have repeatedly said I get every possible thing that goes into a pitchers W-L record, so all your examples in the world doesn’t change anything, because I already knew it. I have never said W-L record matters 100%, and I don’t think it does, but all I’ve ever said is it matters to some degree.
  7. Wrong! I get that 100%. I’m talking about what my opinion is, and what your opinion is. Just like what matters to us Old Schoolers, and what matters to you are two different things, and I get, and accept that. You on the other hand don’t, and that doesn’t change a thing. I’m sure Monty will get his money like Gray did, but that won’t change my point of view, or your point of view, and that’s the fact you can’t get over, or accept. Sean McAdams has forgotten more than you will probably ever know, but you will still think you know it all dogsquat, and all.
  8. And you finally admitted you do it more than anyone.
  9. Do you guys like to just hear yourselves talk? You must, because you just keep rambling on' and on. It all boils down to some of you just can’t accept there are other opinions out there that doesn’t match yours. Just like you who said Sean McAdams didn’t know what he was talking about, because he didn’t agree with you on where Monty ranks in a rotation like it matters one way, or the other. I get every point everyone has made on Monty, but the big sticking point is on how much a W-L matters. I’ve never said it’s the be all end all, but you guys says it’s meaningless, and that is where we disagree. Monty must have been very unlucky all through his career to have never been more than a 10 game winner even playing on some good Yankees teams. I’m not saying your opinions are wrong, but when you guys goes with the meaningless route you guys aren’t doing the same. If Monty was a 20 game winner I’m sure that would get mentioned, and I would do it myself. It’s always amazing on here there just can’t be a agree to disagree on an opinion, and that’s a fact.
  10. You guys are amazing, or at least think you are pointing out all the obvious points, and all the ifs, ands, and buts that goes into a pitchers W-L record. I have never said a W-L record is any be all end all of how good a starting pitcher is, and on the other hand I haven’t said it’s meaningless either. W-L record is what I notice first, but then look at other things after that I have mentioned before. Nobody has said Monty isn’t a good pitcher, and I have said he would help the Red Sox, but that I didn’t think he was as good as his recent hype, and worth any big $100M+ contract. It was pointed out that only once in his career, which was last year he won 10 games. A good part of that career was spent with the Yankees, so it wasn’t like he has played his career with bad ball clubs. Now after 140 career starts do I think he should have more than 38 wins yes, but I don’t think he’s a bad pitcher, because he hasn’t, but I dont think he’s as good as some do either. Once again W-L records for a pitcher is not the be all end all, but I don’t think there meaningless either.
  11. 👍👍👍. The problem is that people that over analyzes that runs rampant on here goes off in all different directions.
  12. Just like your opinion that guarding the 1B, and 3B lines were the same as the shift even though there was facts to back it up that it wasn’t. Now that is providing data to prove it wasn’t, and also to a conclusion.
  13. The funny part is that their hero is thought of that way by a majority of RSN, where is your hero the infamous Gloom, and Doom Bloom isn’t. Don’t know what your point was, but it sure wasn’t a good one.🙈🤭🤮
  14. No! It’s on Que, and so predictable, but try as you must it doesn’t work.
  15. You worry so much about your little moon pie heel tag team partner, but your quick to poh poh, and try to down the Old Schoolers.
  16. I didn’t bare? I don’t care about OPS, and the Red Sox have still not replaced Renfroe’s 96 RBI in the OF. We’ll see if the Red Sox can replace JT’s RBI this year?
  17. And what did I say exactly?
  18. Wrong again. I accept OPS, or any other stat you can come up with. I just don’t use them, because most of all I don’t care about them. It’s shouldn’t really be that hard to understand, and then to accept.
  19. NO it doesn’t. I don’t have a problem with someone digesting, or needing any stat they can get their hands on. You can’t say the same thing.
  20. Once again that’s your opinion, and you definitely don’t speak for everyone.
  21. Not having a need, or care about does not mean someone is not open minded.
  22. Unless it’s an actual fact, or stat everything else is just an opinion on here that ALL are entitled to.
  23. All it takes is one to get through the wicket no matter how many saves you have.
  24. You’re right about being futile, and like I’ve said many times all kinds of bells, and whistles goes off anytime certain things are mentioned on here like W-L records for pitchers, BA, or the good old eye test just to name a few, and then right on Que the downing of the Old Schoolers will start, or should I say what they perceive as downing of the Old Schoolers will start. It is quite hilarious that they actually think it stings, and hurt feelings will be the result.🙈🤭
  25. Like I’ve said many times starting pitchers used to be as revered as the big sluggers. Sandy was as popular, or well known as Willie. Gibby was as popular, or will known as Hank. Call them an Ace, or a 1 today, but it as nowhere near the same meaning.
